    Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with a right-wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he was made state president of the BJP, and after the victory of BJP, he was appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the first Yogi Adityanath Government. Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency, losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However, he was given a second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.

    Suar Assembly constituency is one of the 403 constituencies of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, India. It is a part of the Rampur district and one of the five assembly constituencies in the Rampur Lok Sabha constituency. First election in this assembly constituency was held in 1957 after the delimitation order was passed in 1956. The constituency was assigned identification number 34 after "Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008" was passed in the year 2008. Prior to 2008, this constituency was called Suar Tanda.

    Apna Dal (Soneylal) (abbreviated as AD(S); translation: Our Party (Soneylal)) is a state-level Indian political party.

    Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal is a political party in India. It was founded on 16 August 2016. The Nishad Party was formed for empowerment of Nishad, Kewats, Bind, Beldar, Mallah, Sahani, Kashyap, Gond communities whose traditional occupations centred on rivers, such as boatmen or fishermen. Its founder is Sanjay Nishad, a former member of the Bahujan Samaj Party. According to Nishad, a separate party representing these communities was essential as they had played an integral role in the victories of BSP and Samajwadi Party.

    Rahul Prakash Kol was an Indian politician and a member of the 17th and 18th Legislative Assembly from Chhanbey, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He was a member of the Apna Dal (Sonelal) party. He died on 2 February 2023 due to cancer at a hospital in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

    The Eighteenth Uttar Pradesh Assembly is formed by the members elected in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. Elections for 403 seats of the state, were conducted in seven phases from 10 February 2022 to 7 March 2022 by the Election Commission of India. The votes were counted and results were declared on 10 March 2022.

    The 2024 Indian general election was held in Uttar Pradesh in seven phases from 19 April to 1 June to elect 80 members of the 18th Lok Sabha, with the results declared on 4 June. Bypolls for Dadraul, Lucknow East, Gainsari, and Duddhi assembly constituencies were held alongside this election.

    Shafeek Ahmed Ansari is an Indian politician who has been serving as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Suar Assembly constituency since 13 May 2023 being a Member of the Apna Dal (Sonelal). He won in a By-poll after Abdullah Azam Khan was disqualified. He became the first Muslim Member of Legislative Assembly in National Democratic Alliance, Uttar Pradesh.

    Rinki Kol is an Indian politician who has been serving as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Chhanbey Assembly constituency since 13 May 2023 being associated with the Apna Dal (Sonelal). She is wife of former Member of Legislative Assembly Rahul Prakash Kol.

    Saroj Kureel is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh. She is an MLA from Ghatampur Assembly Constituency which is reserved for SC community in Kanpur Nagar district. She represents the Apna Dal (Soneylal) party which is an ally of BJP. She won the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.

    By-elections to thirteen state assembly constituencies were held in Uttar Pradesh on 13 May 2024 for four seats and on 20 November 2024 for 9 seats. The results were announced on 4 June for 4 seats and 23 November for the rest of the seats. BJP, the ruling party won 8 out of 13 seats and its ally RLD won 1 seat. The Samajwadi Party won four.
