Top-level international cricket has been played in the United Arab Emirates since 1984 when the first One Day International (ODI) in the country was played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The country has been used regularly since, with both Pakistan and India playing home matches in the country on a regular basis. [lower-alpha 1] [1] The United Arab Emirates national cricket team became an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council in 1990 and played its first home ODI matches in 1994 against India and Pakistan in the Austral-Asia Cup.

The United Arab Emirates national cricket team is the team that represents the United Arab Emirates in international cricket. They are governed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) which became an Affiliate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1989 and an Associate Member the following year.
