Kırklareli Province Province of Turkey in West Marmara

Kırklareli Province is a province in northwestern Turkey on the west coast of the Black Sea. The province neighbours Bulgaria to the north along a 180-kilometre (110 mi) long border. It borders the province of Edirne to the west and the province of Tekirdağ to the south and province of Istanbul to the southeast. Kırklareli is the capital city of the province. The province's and its central city's name means "the land of the forties" in Turkish and it may refer either to the forty Ottoman ghazis sent by the sultan Murad I to conquer the city for the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century or to the forty churches reported to be situated in the region before the Ottoman conquest, as attested by the former name of Kırklareli. There is a memorial on a hilltop in Kırklareli city, called "Kırklar Anıtı" to honor the Ottoman conquerors.

After Balkan Wars they left for Bulgaria and the Turks from Bulgaria settled in Kavaklı. Later Turks from Greece and Serbia also settled in the settlement. In 1968 Kavaklı was declared a seat of township. Both agriculture and industry play a part in town economy.

Demirköy is a town and district of Kırklareli Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. The inhabitants are mainly descendants of Muslims from the village of Tisovo and other villages from the Greek side of the Chech region who were settled in Demirköy during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923/1924. Prior to that, the village was known as Samakovo or Samokov.

Lake Saka Nature Reserve

The Lake Saka Nature Reserve is a nature reserve at Sivriler village of Demirköy district in Kırklareli Province of Turkey close to İğneada on the Black Sea coast. It gets its name from the Lake Saka, which is in the boundaries of the İğneada Floodplain Forests National Park. It is 26 km (16 mi) from Demirköy, and 19 km (12 mi) from İğneada.

Büyükmandıra Town in Kırklareli Province, Turkey

Büyükmandıra is a belde (town) town in Babaeski district of Kırklareli Province, Turkey. At 41°21′N27°06′E, the distance to Babaeski is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) and the distance to Kırklareli is 50 kilometres (31 mi). The population of the town is 3688 as of 2011. Up to 1877 there was an Ottoman royal farm in place of the town. But during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) Muslim people from Bulgaria who escaped from the Russian armies were settled in the farm to form the core of the town. According to the mayor's page, a well known wrestler named Kavasoğlu İbrahim arranged this allocation. The settlement was declared a seat of township in 1955. The name of the town means "great dairy" and it refers to the main activity of town residents.

The cave itself, unlike what the original name suggests, is actually three, interconnected caves divided into two separate floors. Its name is derived from the Bulgarian word Dupnitsa (Дупница), related to the word for "hole".
