[1] Monitor Latino issued two year-end General charts: one which ranked the songs by their number of plays on Mexican radio, and the other ranked the songs by their estimated audience. Monitor Latino also issued separate year-end charts for Regional Mexican, Pop and Anglo songs.

"Safari" is a song by Colombian singer J Balvin from his studio album, Energía (2016). Featuring vocals from American singer Pharrell Williams, Puerto Rican rapper Bia and his frequent record producer Sky, the track was released by Capitol Latin on 17 June 2016 as the album's third single. It was written by J Balvin, Bia, Alejandro Ramírez, Jesse Huerta, and Williams, who also produced the song. The song reached number one in Mexico, Panama and Spain.
"Despacito" is a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee from Fonsi's 2019 studio album Vida. Released on January 12, 2017, the song was written by Fonsi, Erika Ender and Daddy Yankee, and produced by Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres. A remix version featuring Canadian singer Justin Bieber was released on April 17, 2017, which helped to improve the chart performance of the song in numerous countries, including various number-one positions. "Despacito" has been widely credited by music journalists as being instrumental in popularizing Spanish-language pop music in the mainstream market again.
"Adiós Amor" is a song originally composed by Salvador Garza, and it was first recorded and released as a banda ballad by Los Dareyes de la Sierra in 2008. In 2017 Christian Nodal recorded the song with mariachi made his version a bolero.
"Clandestino" is a song by Colombian singers Shakira and Maluma, released on 8 June 2018 as a stand-alone single. Shakira and Maluma worked on the song in April 2018 in Spain. It was written and produced by the two singers and Edgar Barrera. The song was intendedly released as the lead single from Shakira's upcoming twelfth studio album according to Rolling Stone, but was scrapped from the album for unknown reasons. The song reached number one in Colombia, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.
