Mexico Ingles Airplay is a record chart published weekly by Billboard magazine for English-language singles receiving airplay in Mexico. The chart was created in January 2009, with Katy Perry's "Hot n Cold" as the first song to reach the No. 1 position. Three songs by English singer-songwriter Adele peaked at the top of the charts in Mexico and the United States, "Someone like You", "Set Fire to the Rain", and "Hello". [1] Grammy-winning song "We Are Young" by American band fun. featuring Janelle Monáe, was a number-one song in Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States after being featured in the TV series Glee and a commercial for Chevrolet that aired during the Super Bowl of 2012. [2] American band Maroon 5 and Scottish DJ Calvin Harris hold the record for most number-one singles in the Mexico Ingles Airplay chart, with seven each.
In 2013, American artist Miley Cyrus spent nine non-consecutive weeks at number-one in the Mexico Ingles Airplay chart with "Wrecking Ball", for which she was awarded the MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year. Ha*Ash is an American Latin pop duo from Lake Charles, Louisiana, formed in 2002 by sisters Hanna Nicole and Ashley Grace. The group's name is a portmanteau of letters from their first names. The song was released on 20 March 2015 as her third solo single, following "Home" and "Right Here". A music video for the song was uploaded to Glynne's own YouTube channel on 23 February 2015. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 29 March 2015 and held that position for three consecutive weeks. It also reached number one in Wallonia (Belgium) and Israel, number seven in the Irish Singles Chart, and became Glynne's first solo chart entry on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 86 on the chart. The song was performed by Glynne on the semi-finals of The Voice UK and was also used in an advertisement for Coca-Cola in 2015. Since late 2015, it has featured in advertising for Jet2holidays, as well as being used for various in-aircraft announcements with Jet2.com. In 2011, fellow Mexican duo Jesse & Joy reached the top of the chart with their single "¡Corre!", the first of their eight number-one singles in the chart, the most for any band. "¡Corre!" also won the Latin Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 2012. Starting on December 1, 2012, Mexican singer Thalía spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at number-one with "Manías", the first single from the album Habítame Siempre, which won the Lo Nuestro Award for Pop Album of the Year. "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" by Mexican artist Alejandro Fernández and American singer Christina Aguilera reached number-one in 2013, and also peaked at number four in Spain.
