Trinidad and Tobago Island country in the Caribbean Sea

Trinidad and Tobago, officially the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is a twin island country that is the southernmost nation of the West Indies in the Caribbean. It is situated 130 kilometres south of Grenada off the northern edge of the South American mainland, 11 kilometres off the coast of northeastern Venezuela. It shares maritime boundaries with Barbados to the northeast, Grenada to the northwest, Guyana to the southeast, and Venezuela to the south and west.

University of the Southern Caribbean university

The University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) is a private university owned and operated by the Caribbean Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The main campus is located on 384 acres (1.55 km2) of land in the Maracas Valley on the island of Trinidad of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. There are also six satellite extension campuses located in Scarborough, (Tobago),  Trinidad and Tobago; San Fernando,  Trinidad and Tobago; Georgetown,  Guyana; Bridgetown,  Barbados; Castries,  Saint Lucia; and St. John’s,  Antigua and Barbuda. One other satellite campus is in the planning for St. George's,  Grenada.

University of Trinidad and Tobago university

The University of Trinidad and Tobago, also known as UTT, is a state owned university in Trinidad and Tobago established in 2004. Its main campus, currently under construction, will be located at Wallerfield in Trinidad. Presently, its campuses are an amalgamation of several former technological colleges throughout the country.

University of the West Indies International university in the Caribbean

The University of the West Indies (UWI), originally University College of the West Indies, is a public university system established to serve the higher education needs of the residents of 17 English-speaking countries and territories in the Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos Islands. Each country is either a member of the Commonwealth of Nations or a British Overseas Territory. The aim of the university is to help 'unlock the potential for economic and cultural growth' in the West Indies, thus allowing improved regional autonomy. The University was originally instituted as an independent external college of the University of London.

Other Educational Institutes

The Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies (CCLCS) is a public University located in Trinidad. The CCLCS was established in 1966 and its main campus is located in Valsayn but there are satellite locations in San Fernando and Tobago. The college is named in honor of the labour leader Arthur Andrew Cipriani.

The Hugh Wooding Law School (HWLS) is a law school in Trinidad and Tobago.

The School of Business and Computer Science (SBCS) is a tertiary level school in Trinidad and Tobago which was founded in 1986 and formally began operations in 1987. There are three campuses in Champs Fleurs, San Fernando, and Trincity. Various degrees can be found in Accounting and Finance, Business, Computing, Health and Safety, and Engineering.

Lisa Wickham is a media producer-director-TV personality in Trinidad and Tobago. She is a former presenter with Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT) where she was the host of the daily morning prime-time news and talk show T&T This Morning (2002–05), host of the daily mid-morning talk show Community Dateline, (1999–2000) host of the weekly teen talent show Party Time (1987–89) and cast member and segment host of the weekly children's show Rikki Tikki. Wickham started her career on television at the age of six. She is the CEO of Imagine Media International Limited. Imagine Media is best known for its line of television productions under the E-Zone Entertainment brand.

Alma Jordan Library library

The Alma Jordan Library at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago, was named after UWI librarian Dr. Alma Jordan in 2012. The four-storied library is located on the St. Augustine Campus of the UWI. It is the largest of the libraries in the St Augustine Campus libraries network, with approximately 600,000 monographs, 31,000 e-books, 4,000 serial titles, 57,000 e-journal subscriptions and access to over 200 databases.

Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Company

The Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Company Limited (FashionTT) was established in 2013. As a subsidiary of the Trinidad and Tobago Creative Industries Company Limited (CreativeTT), FashionTT’s mandate is "to stimulate and facilitate the business development and export activity of the fashion industry in Trinidad and Tobago to generate national wealth." The company provides capacity development workshops, growth strategies and linkages with foreign buyers for local fashion industry stakeholders.

Trinidad and Tobago Creative Industries Company

The Trinidad and Tobago Creative Industries Company Limited (CreativeTT), established by The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago through the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2013, is a wholly owned State enterprise with the mandate ‘to stimulate and facilitate the business development and export activities of the creative industries in Trinidad and Tobago to generate national wealth.’ CreativeTT is therefore responsible for the strategic and business development of the three (3) niche areas and subsectors under its purview- film, fashion and music. As a result, CreativeTT is known as the parent company of three subsidiary companies for the three subsectors. They are Trinidad and Tobago Music Company Limited (MusicTT), Trinidad and Tobago Film Company Limited (FilmTT) and Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Company Limited (FashionTT).

Located in Nassau, The Bahamas, the Eugene Dupuch Law School is named after the lawyer and politician, the late Hon. Eugene Dupuch CBE, Q.C. It was established in 1998 as the third law school in the English-speaking Caribbean community.

Courtenay Felix Bartholomew is a physician, scientist, and author. Born in 1931, he is the founder and director of the Medical Research Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago.

University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus Campus of the University of the West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados

The Cave Hill campus in Barbados is one of three physical campuses of the University of the West Indies. It was the third campus to be established, following the Mona campus in Jamaica and the St. Augustine campus in Trinidad and Tobago. The Cave Hill campus is also the headquarters of the Open Campus, which is responsible for UWI programmes in the non-campus territories. The Cave Hill Campus has 5 faculties which teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct research across a range of disciplines. Codrington College, the oldest educational institution in the Caribbean, is affiliated with Cave Hill, while the School of Education works with Erdiston Teachers' Training College to provide pre-service and in-service training to teachers in Barbados and other parts of the Caribbean. Since 2004, the Cave Hill campus is the site of the West Indies Federal Archives Centre.

Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute


The Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute, also known as THTI, is a state owned Institute in Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago founded in 1997. The campus is currently situated on 99 acres (0.40 km2) of land in the Blenheim, Mount Saint George on the island of Tobago of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The Institute caters for graduates from the Secondary Schools or persons with experience in the world of tourism, hospitality and culinary arts. THTI has designed their programs ensuring that students are fully prepared through both theory and practical applications. The Institute has a mix of Associate Degrees, Certificates and Modular courses.
