Lo Moon is an American rock band from Los Angeles that is currently signed to Columbia Records. The band released their first single, "Loveless", in September 2016. Their self-titled debut studio album was released on February 23, 2018. [1]
Prior to the band's formation, its eventual lead singer, Matt Lowell, began writing songs in New York City with the intention of forming a band. He later moved to Los Angeles where he met bassist and keyboardist, Crisanta Baker. He played her a demo for the song, "Loveless", and, soon after, she became the second member of the band. Guitarist Samuel Stewart - who is the son of David A. Stewart of Eurythmics and Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama - joined shortly after. The band soon began practicing in Lowell's backyard shed. [2] [3] The "Loveless" demo, which Lowell had begun writing in 2012, [4] attracted the attention of Columbia Records and spurred the label to sign Lo Moon. [5] Sterling Laws later joined as their touring drummer.
In September 2016, the band released "Loveless" as its first single which was produced by former Death Cab for Cutie guitarist and producer, Chris Walla and François Tétaz. [6] After the song's official release, the band played a smattering of live shows before going on tour in early 2017. [4] [5] [7] In May 2017, the band released a second single, "This Is It". [8] In June, it performed at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City, [9] and two months later at Lollapalooza in Chicago. [10] They also opened for Glass Animals in August 2017. [11]
In September 2017, Lo Moon was one of three acts added to NPR's inaugural Slingshot emerging artist series. [8] [12] They also opened for Ride. [13] [14] The following month, they opened for Phoenix on five dates in North America [15] and toured with London Grammar in the United Kingdom and Europe. That month, they also released a new single, "Thorns". [16] The band began headlining shows in November 2017, including sold-out stops at the Troubadour in Los Angeles [15] [17] and at Rough Trade NYC. [18]
In January 2018, the band announced details of its self-titled debut album. The album was released on February 23, 2018 through Columbia Records, and produced by Chris Walla and François Tétaz. [19] [20] The song "This Is It" peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart that month, [21] and the band performed it (along with "Loveless") on Jimmy Kimmel Live on January 16. [19]
On November 28, 2018, the band announced that drummer Sterling Laws, previously a touring member of the band, was now a full band member. [22]

The group is perhaps best known for the hit singles "Drop", "Passin' Me By" and "Runnin'", as well as their first album, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde (1992). The group continues to tour and record, both collaboratively and in solo projects—the most recent being Hardson's collaborative EP with DJ Nu-Mark released in 2014 on Delicious Vinyl.
Robert Clark Seger is a retired American singer, songwriter, and musician. As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded as Bob Seger and the Last Heard and the Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s, breaking through with his first album, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1969. By the early 1970s, he had dropped the 'System' from his recordings and continued to strive for broader success with various other bands. In 1973, he put together the Silver Bullet Band, with a group of Detroit-area musicians, with whom he became most successful on the national level with the album Live Bullet (1976), recorded live with the Silver Bullet Band in 1975 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. In 1976, he achieved a national breakout with the studio album Night Moves. On his studio albums, he also worked extensively with the Alabama-based Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which appeared on several of Seger's best-selling singles and albums.

Plans is the fifth studio album by American rock band Death Cab for Cutie, released August 30, 2005 on Atlantic Records. Emerging from the Pacific Northwest in the early 2000s, Death Cab first rose to prominence on the strength of its confessional lyricism and textured indie rock sound. Following a longstanding partnership with indie label Barsuk, the band made the leap to a major label, Atlantic, for Plans. Waxahatchee is an American indie music project, formed in 2010 by American singer-songwriter Kathryn Crutchfield following the breakup of her previous band P.S. Eliot. The band is named after Waxahatchee Creek, in Alabama, where Crutchfield grew up. Originally an acoustic solo project, her recordings now tend to involve a full backing band. As Waxahatchee, she has released six solo studio albums to date: American Weekend (2012), Cerulean Salt (2013), Ivy Tripp (2015), Out in the Storm (2017), Saint Cloud (2020) and Tigers Blood (2024). Away from Waxahatchee, Crutchfield was also a member of alternative country duo Plains alongside Jess Williamson.
Hippo Campus is an American indie rock band from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Their musical inclinations appear to be firmly rooted in the UK, drawing inspiration from notable artists such as Little Comets and King Krule. They are signed to Grand Jury Records in the United States and Transgressive Records in the United Kingdom. The band has performed at South by Southwest, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Summerfest and Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as on Conan. Hippo Campus were named one of NPR Music's favorite new artists of 2017.
White Reaper is an American garage punk band based in Louisville, Kentucky. The band includes Tony Esposito (guitar/vocals), Ryan Hater, Hunter Thompson, Nick Wilkerson, and Sam Wilkerson. The band has released two EPs and four full-length albums, their first album in 2015 White Reaper Does It Again, and The World's Best American Band in 2017. Tucker Russell Beathard is an American country music singer and songwriter. A son of songwriter Casey Beathard, Beathard was signed to Dot Records, a subsidiary of Big Machine Records in 2015 where he released his debut single titled "Rock On" and released an EP titled Fight Like Hell in 2016. Since then, Beathard has departed Big Machine, releasing his debut album titled Nobody's Everything independently on November 30, 2018, and later signed to Warner Music Nashville in early 2019.
Boygenius is an American indie supergroup consisting of American singer-songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus. They debuted with their self-titled EP in 2018, and then returned after a hiatus with their debut studio album, The Record (2023), which was both a critical and commercial success, winning the members three Grammy Awards. Labeled an "instant classic" by NME, it topped the charts in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, and peaked at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200. Their second EP, The Rest, was released on October 13, 2023. The group is currently on hiatus.
