Louis York is an American band formed by Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony in 2015.
Kelly and Harmony first met while working on Chrisette Michele's 2009 album Epiphany . [1] They went on to collaborate as a duo writing and producing tracks for artists including Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Jessie J and Miley Cyrus. [1] [2] Wanting to create music that would better reflect their own point of view and move them beyond being songwriters for hire, they formed Louis York. [1] [3] The group name originates from the hometown of its founders, Claude Kelly (New York City) and Chuck Harmony (East St. Louis). [1] They write and produce all the tracks, with Kelly providing vocals and Harmony playing keyboards, guitars, drums and the vocoder. [1] Drawing from several musical influences, such as their backgrounds in church choirs, growing up with R&B and being exposed to Jazz and the Motown sound as children, Louis York describes their music as "world music" in the sense that it is multi-genre and has an international sound. [4] Louis York is the first act on their imprint Weirdo Workshop, whose releases are distributed by Sony's RED Distribution. [1] Based out of a house in Franklin, Tennessee, The Weirdo Workshop exists as a "multi-purpose creative hub" from which the duo produces music, plans for future projects and hosts lectures, book clubs and live shows. Louis York made their debut with the release of the single "Clair Huxtable" on February 24, 2015.The song celebrates strong women like its namesake, the mother on the television sitcom The Cosby Show . [5] In the music video, Kelly and Harmony are seen searching for a woman like Mrs. Huxtable: strong, smart, sexy and elegant. [2] [6] They released their second single, "Good Drinks, Dumb Jokes", on August 13, 2015. [7]
Masterpiece Theater – Act I, Louis York's debut EP, was recorded in Los Angeles in the summer of 2015, and released on September 18, 2015. [1] The Los Angeles Times described it as "an eclectic mix steeped in hook-driven pop and throwback R&B along with rock and African tribal rhythms." [1] Their follow-up EP, Masterpiece Theater – Act II, was released on November 18, 2016. [8]
In 2019, the duo released their debut album titled American Griots - The Album. The title of the album alludes to the griots of West Africa who are storytellers, poets and songwriters who travel from village to village performing and passing on oral traditions. With the addition of "American", the duo hoped to modernize and personalize the role of the griot. Through the album's title, Louis York attempt to communicate how they see themselves and give artists a renewed sense of responsibility as touring performers. [4]

Masterpiece Theatre is the fourth studio album by American recording group En Vogue, released worldwide by Elektra Records on May 23, 2000. Matt and Kim are an American indie electronic duo from Brooklyn, New York City. The group formed in 2004 and consist of Matt Johnson (vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums). He is a four-time Grammy Award nominee, and has written or co-written songs for chart-topping artists including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, Kesha, Brandy, Keke Wyatt, Tori Kelly, and One Direction. "Stupid in Love" is a song recorded by Barbadian singer Rihanna for her fourth studio album, Rated R (2009). The song was written by R&B singer Ne-Yo and pop producer duo StarGate, with the duo also handling production. Ne-Yo served as the assistant producer, and Makeba Riddick as vocal producer. It was written two days before Rihanna and then boyfriend Chris Brown's altercation on the night of the 2009 Grammy Awards, which occurred on February 8, 2009. The Audibles is an American pop and hip hop production duo from Las Vegas, Nevada, consisting of Dominic "DJ Mecca" Jordan and Jimmy "Jimmy G" Giannos. They originally met in 2007 at the “Lost in Love” music video shoot for Polow Da Don artists I-15 at the Palms Casino in Paradise, Nevada. They coined their name The Audibles from its root definition “to be heard” and “to change the game,” as seen by quarterbacks in football. JR Castro and Das offered an opportunity for the two to move to Atlanta and develop their art further under producer Polow Da Don.

Produced by former DC Talk member Jason Halbert, the song was written by artists who also have been members of various rock bands: Semi Precious Weapons lead singer Justin Tranter, former Cobra Starship lead guitarist Ryland Blackinton, Young Love lead singer Dan Keyes, and Oliver duo member Vaughn Oliver. A synth electro rock song, it sings of remembering nostalgia of a failed relationship, which was mainly based on Tranter's and Keyes's real life experiences.
