Court was born in south-west London. Her father was news editor on the Daily Mail and Sunday Mirror. In 1983, she starred in the video for the single "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats, but her identity in the video was unknown to the public until 2013. [1]
Court's early journalism career included work as an entertainment writer at Express Newspapers, deputy editor of Prima, and assistant editor of Woman's Own. In 1994, she joined Best magazine as deputy editor, becoming editor in 1998. In 2005, she worked for ACP-NatMag, overseeing Best, Reveal and Real People.
She became the editor of Cosmopolitan (UK) in November 2006. [2] She was editor of Cosmopolitan until July 2015. As of 2018, she is consultant director of commercial content for Time, Inc. [3]

Men Without Hats are a Canadian new wave and synth-pop band, originally from Montreal, Quebec. Their music is characterized by the baritone voice of their lead singer Ivan Doroschuk, as well as their elaborate use of synthesizers and electronic processing. They achieved their greatest popularity in the 1980s with "The Safety Dance", a worldwide top ten hit, and "Pop Goes the World". After a hiatus for most of the 1990s and 2000s, Doroschuk reformed the band in 2010, and released Love in the Age of War (2012). The group, based in Vancouver, has continued to perform, including tour dates in support of the release of two studio albums, Men Without Hats Again , in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
