Challenge is a 2009 Indian Bengali language coming of age action film co-written and directed by Raj Chakraborty and produced by Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The film stars Dev and Subhashree Ganguly in the lead, while Rajatava Dutta, Biswajit Chakraborty, Supriyo Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Laboni Sarkar play another pivotal roles. The music was composed by Jeet Gannguli and cinematography was by Somak Mukherjee.The screenplay and all the dialogues were written by N.K Salil, action sequences were designed by Judo Ramu with dance choreographed by Duraiswamy Shankaraiyaa and Baba Yadav.The plot revolves around how a college student and free-spirited boy Abir(Dev), with a remarkable sense of student's power, wins his love Pooja(Subhashree), overcoming all the obstacles created by her father.
Challenge 2 is a 2012 Indian Bengali language action thriller film co-written and directed by Raja Chanda. The story, screenplay and dialogues of the film were written by N.K Salil, which itself is also inspired from German film Good Bye, Lenin! (2003). Produced by Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, it stars Dev and Puja Banerjee in lead roles, alongside Tapas Paul, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subhasish Mukherjee, Kaushik Chakraborty, Sumit Ganguly, Debesh Roy Chowdhury and Surajit Sen in pivotal roles, with Biswanath Basu and Labani Sarkar in guest appearance. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2009 film Challenge, but contains a very different storyline. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Jeet Gannguli and Savvy, while the background score was by S.P Venkatesh. It revolves around an undercover officer as well as IPS Abhiraj Roy, who is on a mission to bring down the dreaded don Guru Nayak. But all on a sudden tragically he transforms into an MLA to fulfill his father's wish, who was in coma after meeting an conspiring accident as he was an honest and celebrated politician amongst the masses.
