Lucimar Teodoro (born 1 May 1981) is a Brazilian track and field athlete who specialises in the 400 metres sprint and the 400 metres hurdles.
Teodoro was born in Guararapes, São Paulo and began competing in senior athletics in 2001. She attended her first Olympics at the 2004 Athens Games as part of the 4×400 metres relay team. However, the team did not reach the final of the event. Teodoro won both the sprint and hurdling 400 m titles at the 2005 national championships and reached the semi-finals of sprint event at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics. She competed at the following World Championships in Osaka, this time in the 400 m hurdles, but did not progress to the finals. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics Teodoro represented Brazil in the 400 m hurdles, and the 4×400 metres relay. [1]
She set a new South American record in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 55.84 seconds in Belém at the Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa meet in May 2009. [2] Following this, she finished second at the Troféu Brasil Caixa de Atletismo to Luciana França, who challenged Teodoro's record by running a new personal best of 55.90 seconds. [3] In July, she won the gold at the 2009 Lusophony Games. [4]
However, she tested positive for banned substances (Fenproporex) soon after and was provisionally banned from competition and was not selected for the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. [5] After admitting her use of a banned substance, she was suspended from competition for the minimum of two years by the Brazilian Athletics Confederation. [6]

LaVerne Janet Jones-Ferrette is a sprinter from the United States Virgin Islands who specializes in the 100 and 200 meters. She represented her country at the Summer Olympics in 2004, 2008 and 2012. She won the silver medal over 60 meters at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships in a time of 6.97 seconds; a subsequent drug test revealed a banned substance in her system and she was stripped of her medal.

The 2008 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Pedro Grajales in Cali, Colombia between 4–6 July 2008. A total of 44 events were contested, of which 22 by male and 22 by female athletes. During the three-day competition, six championship records were broken. The competition took place at almost 1000 m above sea level, a factor which helps athletic performance in some events.
The 2006 South American Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio La Independencia in Tunja, Colombia from 29 September to 1 October. The competition represented a departure from the traditional biennial cycle of the championships, a decision taken partly as a response to the lack of major competitions that year for the region's athletes, as well as the fact many athletes would instead focus on the 2007 World Championships in Athletics and the Pan American Games which were scheduled for the following year. The stadium's location at 2810 metres above sea level aided the performances of athletes competing in the sprint and field events. A total of 44 events were contested, of which 22 by male and 22 by female athletes.

She is the former South American record holder in the 100 metres (11.05 seconds) and the current (2017) record holder in the 200 metres (22.48 seconds). She also was part of the team that broke the 4×100 metres relay continental record with a time of 42.29 seconds.
