Despite the favorable location of the community, most households cannot provide for their living and heads of families often chose the labor migration as the only solution of their problems. Around 160 ha of the Community’s agricultural land are not irrigated.

It is bordered by the Kentron District form the west and the north, Nor Nork from the east and Erebuni from the south. The name of the district is derived from the Nork neighbourhood of Yerevan and the ancient major Armenian settlement of Marash in modern-day Republic of Turkey. The district is unofficially divided into smaller neighborhoods such as Nork and Nor Marash.

Tsaghkalanj is a village in the Armavir Province of Armenia. The village's church, dedicated to Saint George, dates to the 1870s. It rests on an earlier circular foundation. Nearby, is the whitewashed Amenaprkich Church of an unknown date. There is also a Neolithic-Chalcolithic tell in the village and Bronze Age burial mounds, while the ruins of Amenaprkich, a medieval settlement are nearby.

Tigran Petrosian Chess House, officially the Central House of Chess-player named after Tigran Petrosian, is the centre of the sport of chess in Yerevan, Armenia. It was opened in 1970. In 1984, it was renamed after the former world chess champion Tigran Petrosian. The architect of the triangular-shaped building was Zhanna Meshcheryakova. Tigran Petrosian laid the first stone in the foundation of the building. Currently, the director of the centre is Hrachik Tavadyan.
