MILI [1] also known as Mili Nair (born 7 April) is a singer, songwriter from India. She released her debut album Written in the Stars where she composed all ten songs on the album. From writing her music and lending her voice to some of the biggest brand campaigns in advertising she has also recorded music with composers like A.R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi.
Mili was born in Mumbai and studied in Pune and Bangalore. [2] Her journey into music began at an early age and she confesses she knew right from the very start that she was destined to sing and become a musician.
Mili released her first album Written in the Stars in which she has composed all ten songs on the album and has collaborated with veteran musicians Vinnie Colaiuta, Michael Landau, James Genus and George Whitty. [3] The album was launched with the first video Dream Like A Skylark on YouTube. Written in the Stars was recorded and produced in Los Angeles, California and released under the label Apostrophe Music. [4] [5]
The music video for the song Fooling was filmed in Budapest, Hungary and Stockholm, Sweden and was broadcast on VH1.
Mili released her first single "Keep The Hope Alive!” on 10 July 2020, which aims at keeping our spirits up, as the whole world is fighting against the pandemic.
A. R. Rahman gave Mili her first break in film music with the Tamil song Keda Kari in Raavanan and Maham Maye in the Telugu film Komaram Puli. [2] Her most recent release is Parakka Seivaai in the Tamil film Ambikapathy, composed by Rahman. [6] She was discovered by Keith Peters while she was performing in Bangalore. [7]
Mili also sang on Meethi Boliyaan in the Hindi film Kai Po Che! for Amit Trivedi. In the hands of Trivedi, Meethi Boliyan evolved into a beautiful composition that infused something new and unconventional in Bollywood music. Impressed by Mili's originality and style, Trivedi incorporated her idea of vocal improvisation in the track which enhanced its fresh appeal. Meethi Boliyaan from Kai Po Che! brought a great response from the listeners and Mili has been acknowledged with award nominations from the Music Industry. She was also a part of Amit Trivedi's concert tours.
Mili has sung and collaborated with director Mahesh Bhatt on the title song for the film Mr. X composed by Jeet Gaanguli. [8]
She has also worked with leading film composer Harris Jayaraj, rendering the Tamil hit Rettai Kathire in Maattrraan .
Mili got recognition and was praised for her performance on Coke Studio Season 2 on MTV when she sang Badari Badariya and Yatra, both composed by Amit Trivedi. [9]
She has sung on major advertisement campaigns, including Seagram's Music, Coca-Cola's Maaza campaign, the Incredible India! Tourism Campaign and Cadbury Silk to name a few. Her international debut performance was in 2009 with jazz guitarist Vinnie Valentino at the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta. [2]

Rangeela (transl. 'Colourful') is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film co-written, directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. It stars Aamir Khan, Urmila Matondkar and Jackie Shroff. The film was A. R. Rahman's first Hindi film with an original score and soundtrack, as his previous Hindi releases were dubbed versions of his Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films.
Neha Kakkar Singh is an Indian playback singer. She is the younger sister of playback singers Tony Kakkar and Sonu Kakkar. She began performing at a very early age at religious events. After working as a theatre and jingle composer and composing for non-film albums, he debuted as a film composer in the 2008 Hindi film Aamir, he gained prominence for his work in the Hindi film Dev.D (2009).

Neeti Mohan Sharma is an Indian singer. She sings mainly in Hindi films, but has also sung songs in Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi and English. Born in Delhi, she was one of the winners of the Channel V's reality show Popstars, subsequently being chosen for Aasma, with other winners of the show. She rose to prominence after recording "Ishq Wala Love" for Student of the Year (2012), ultimately winning the Filmfare R. D. Burman Award for New Music Talent and was nominated for the Best Female Playback Singer for "Jiya Re" from Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012).
Amitabh Bhattacharya is an Indian lyricist and playback singer who works in Bollywood films. He shot to fame with the film Dev.D with the song "Emotional Atyachar" turning an instant hit. He sang this song under the name "Band Master Rangeela And Rasila". He also lent his voice to this song with Amit Trivedi. He has been continuously writing lyrics for a variety of Bollywood movies since then and has also sung a few of them. Bhattacharya has also maintained a close association with Amit Trivedi since their first film Aamir. He has written the lyrics or sang for most of the film albums composed by the latter. His lyrics have been variously described as "frillfree" and "smartly worded".

Queen is the soundtrack album by Amit Trivedi, to the 2014 Hindi film Queen directed by Vikas Bahl and starring Kangana Ranaut in lead role. The album features eight tracks in a different array of genres. It was released digitally on 25 January 2014, with an exclusive release in iTunes on 23 January 2014. A physical release was held on 5 February 2014 at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai, attended by the cast and crew of the film and preceded by Trivedi's performance.

Mame Khan is an Indian playback and folk singer from Rajasthan, India. He has been playback singer for numerous Hindi films such as Luck By Chance (2009), I Am (2010), No One Killed Jessica (2011), Mirzya (2016) and Sonchiriya (2019). Khan was featured on Coke Studio @ MTV along with Amit Trivedi, the duo performed the track Chaudhary. He received the Best Folk Single Award at Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GiMA) 2016. Mame Khan was first ever Folk artist to walk the Red Carpet at The Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and to perform at the Indian pavilion at Cannes. Mame Khan's most recent folk, Sufi, fusion album named "Desert Rose" was released on 13 October 2022.
Andhadhun (transl. Blindly) is the soundtrack to the 2018 Indian Hindi-language black comedy crime thriller film of the same name directed by Sriram Raghavan. The album features ten tunes; six songs, three instrumental theme tracks, alternative versions for two of the songs featured in the album. Most of the tracks were composed by Amit Trivedi, excluding one song – the title track of the film was written, composed and recorded by Raftaar and Girish Nakod. Lyrics for Trivedi's compositions were written by Jaideep Sahni and vocals for the songs in the album were provided by Trivedi, Raftaar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arijit Singh, Abhijeet Srivastava, Aakansha Sharma, Shadab Faridi and Altamash Faridi. The film score was composed by Daniel B. George. The album released on 5 September 2018 through the Zee Music Company record label.
Lakiro, is a 2023 Gujarati film directed by Darshan Ashwin Trivedi, starring Deeksha Joshi, Raunaq Kamdar, Netri Trivedi, Shivani Joshi and Vishal Shah.
Qala (Music from the Netflix Film) is the soundtrack accompanying the 2022 film of the same name. Released on 11 November 2022, by Sony Music India. The album featured six tracks, five of them being composed by Amit Trivedi, and the sixth song guest composed by Sagar Desai, who also scored the film's background music.
Bombay Velvet is the soundtrack composed by Amit Trivedi to the 2015 film of the same name directed by Anurag Kashyap starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The album featured 10 original songs with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and performed by Neeti Mohan, Shefali Alvares, Shalmali Kholgade, Papon, Mohit Chauhan and Trivedi. It also accompanied three instrumentals used in the film score. The album also featured two alternative versions of an original song, compiling over 15 tracks in the album.
Dev.D is the soundtrack to the 2009 film of the same name directed by Anurag Kashyap. A modern-day adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali novel Devdas, the film stars Abhay Deol, Mahie Gill and Kalki Koechlin as the principal characters, Dev, Paro and Chandramukhi, based on the novel. The album featured 18 tracks composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics for the songs written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Shellee, Anusha Mani, and Shruti Pathak, and consisted of a variety of genres.
