In August 2020, Liberty Global announced that it will be acquiring Sunrise for $7.4 billion. The transaction was completed on November 11, 2020. In November 2024, Liberty Global completed the spin-off of Sunrise, turning it into an independent public entity operating autonomously in the Swiss telecommunications market.
