The Mahindra Verito Vibe is a subcompact notchback car made for the Indian market. [2] [3] [4] It was developed as a variation of the Dacia Logan and introduced as a subcompact notchback for the Indian market in order to offer a hatchback-like car in a smaller size.

History

The Mahindra Verito Vibe was launched in 2013 to get the tax benefits offered to cars with a length below 4 meters. The car was a converted Mahindra Verito sedan (based on first generation of the Logan) into a sub 4-meter notchback. [5]

Hyundai i10 City car manufactured by Hyundai

The Hyundai i10 is a city car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 2007. It replaced the Hyundai Atos in the model line-up, and was initially available only as a five-door hatchback body style. The second generation of the car was presented in August 2013 and released in the beginning of 2014. A slightly larger version, the Grand i10, was developed primarily for the Indian market and was released in September 2013, together with a sedan model, the Hyundai Xcent.

The company's first vehicle was the REVAi electric car, available in 26 countries with more than 4,000 of its different versions sold worldwide by mid March 2011. Reva was acquired by Indian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra in May 2010. After the acquisition, the company launched the electric hatchback e2o in 2013. Today, the company sells electric vehicles in different segments – the electric sedan eVerito, the electric commercial vehicle eSupro and the Treo range of low maintenance, lithium-ion battery powered three-wheelers. Recently, Mahindra Electric became the first Indian car manufacturer to cross 170 million eKilometres traveled on its fleet.

Toyota Etios

The Toyota Etios is a subcompact car consisting a line of four-door sedan and five-door hatchback produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota for India, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa and Argentina. The sedan version was launched in December 2010 and the hatchback version followed in June 2011. It is built on the EFC platform, which is derived from the NBC platform.

Škoda Rapid (India)

The Škoda Rapid is a subcompact sedan produced by Škoda India, the subsidiary of the Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto, exclusively for the Indian market, introduced in November 2011. It features a similar front end design with the second generation of the Škoda Fabia, but is not directly related to it, the Rapid being based on the newer PQ25 platform of the Volkswagen Group.

Mahindra e2o

The Mahindra e2o, previously Reva NXR, is an urban electric car hatchback manufactured by Mahindra Reva or Reva Electric Vehicles in 2013–2017. The e2o is the successor of the REVAi and was developed using Reva's technology, and has a range of 120 km (75 mi).

Honda Amaze

The Honda Amaze is a 4-door subcompact sedan produced by Honda slotted below the City. It is the sedan version of the Brio hatchback for the first-generation model and followed the same design and architecture with it, while the second-generation model is built on its own platform. Honda launched the Amaze in India in April 2013 and was developed at Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. located in Bangkok, Thailand. The Amaze is available in petrol and diesel engine. It is the smallest sedan in Honda's line-up.

Suzuki Baleno (2015)

The Suzuki Baleno is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki since 2015. It was previewed by the iK-2 concept car that was first shown at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Prior to this, the "Baleno" nameplate had been applied to the Suzuki Cultus Crescent in numerous export markets. Since June 2019, it is also marketed at Toyota dealerships in India as the Toyota Glanza, and since September 2020 in Africa as the Toyota Starlet.

The Nissan Kicks is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by Nissan since 2016. The crossover was initially introduced as a concept car under the same name and was premiered at the 2014 São Paulo International Motor Show. Nissan claimed the concept is inspired by the streets of Brazil. Currently, the Kicks nameplate is used for two similar vehicles sold mainly in Brazil and India, albeit being built on different platforms.

The Honda WR-V is a subcompact crossover produced by Honda. It has the same body structure as the third generation Fit/Jazz with different front and hood treatment. It was introduced at the 2016 São Paulo International Motor Show. The WR-V was built and sold specifically for the South American and Indian market.

It is based on the X100 platform of SsangYong Tivoli and has been sold in Indian market since February 2019. Mahindra slotted it in the segment along with their TUV300 to rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford Ecosport.

Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz is a subcompact hatchback manufactured by Tata Motors. The Altroz was revealed at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show alongside the new Buzzard, Buzzard Sport, and H2X subcompact SUV concept. It was launched to the Indian market on 22 January 2020.
