Mardabad (Persian : مرداباد‎, also Romanized as Mardābād; also known as Qarīq)^[1] is a village in Abarghan Rural District, in the Central District of Sarab County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 57, in 13 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Abarghan Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Sarab County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 13,529, in 2,910 families. The rural district has 25 villages.
