Barangay Marinig (PSGC: 043404010) is one of the eighteen urbanized [1] barangays comprising the progressive City of Cabuyao in the province of Laguna, Philippines.
Barangay Marinig lies for about one and a half kilometer away from the city proper of Cabuyao and is situated at the eastern portion of the city.
According to the 2015 Census, it has a population of 43,315 inhabitants (up from 25,619 from 2007 [2] ), making it rank as the second largest barangay in Cabuyao in terms of population (after Barangay Mamatid).
The total land area of Barangay Marinig is 391.5 hectares or 3.915 square kilometers (km2). Making it the second largest barangay in the city of Cabuyao in terms of land area.
It is politically subdivided into six puroks in two districts:

It is located at the western portion of Laguna de Bay (Laguna Lake), the country's largest lake; northwest of Barangay Gulod; north east of Barangay Niugan; southeast of Barangays Bigaa and Butong; east of Barangay Sala in the city of Cabuyao.
It lies for about one and a half kilometer away from the city proper and is situated at the eastern portion of the city.
It is one of the six "along the lake" barangays of the city of Cabuyao. Which is the barangays Mamatid, Baclaran, Gulod, Marinig, Butong, and Bigaa.

The name "Marinig", came to be when an old man, who had an impaired sense of hearing was asked by a group of conquistador, where Crispulo Aragon belonged, what the name of the name place was, he replied, "'di ko marinig". From then on, the place was called as Barrio Marinig.
When the Spaniards arrived in 1571 in the town of Tabuko (the old name of Cabuyao), they first landed in the shoreline of Marinig. These Spaniards saw the potential of the place for barter, thus, they made it the center of trade or Encomienda.
The Fiesta of Marinig is every 24th day of August in honor of the barangay's Patron Saint, Saint Bartholomew, the apostle.
