This is the only Halloweentown film to not feature Kimberly J. Brown as Marnie Piper, who played the role in the previous three films. In addition, Emily Roeske did not reprise her role as Sophie Piper. This film also makes the Halloweentown series one of the first Disney Channel Original Movies to produce a fourth installment. The premiere scored 7.5 million viewers. The DVD was released on August 28, 2007.
