Martin Campbell Field is a general aviation airport located near Copperhill, Tennessee. It serves the Copper Basin region in which it is located, as well as the entirety of Polk County and surrounding areas.
Martin Campbell Field consists of a 3,500 ft x 75 ft asphalt runway. The airport is located of a total of 59 acres of land approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) northeast of Copperhill, and is also located near Ducktown. Martin Campbell Field was established in December 1946. [1] [2]
Polk County is a county located in the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 United States census, its population was 17,544. Its county seat is Benton. The county was created on November 28, 1839, from parts of Bradley and McMinn counties, after final removal of most Cherokee from the region that year. Buttonville Municipal Airport or Toronto/Buttonville Municipal Airport was a medium-sized airport in the neighbourhood of Buttonville in Markham, Ontario, Canada, 29 km (18 mi) north of Downtown Toronto, which closed in November, 2023. It was operated by Torontair. Due to its location within Toronto's suburbs, there were several strict noise-reduction procedures for aircraft using the airport, which was open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2014, Buttonville was Canada's 20th busiest airport by aircraft movements. There was also a weather station located at the airport, which was still operational on the site but closed along with the airport.
