Shettima Mustafa was a Nigerian academic and politician. After an early career in medicine,local administration,and media,Mustafa studied agriculture at university,eventually earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He became a commissioner in Borno State and joined the Nigerian People's Party,becoming their vice-presidential candidate in 1983. He was jailed after the military coup of December 1983 led by Muhammadu Buhari. After his release in 1985 he taught agriculture at the University of Maiduguri and became head of the Jos region of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. Mustafa served as Minister of Agriculture from 1990 to 1992,and in 2007 was appointed Minister of Defence in the cabinet of President Umaru Yar'Adua. In 2008 he became Minister of the Interior but left office with the 2010 dissolution of the cabinet.
Mohammed Sanusi Daggash is a Nigerian architect,economist and politician who was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives in 1999,and became Senator for Borno North in 2003. President Umaru Yar'Adua appointed him minister for the National Planning Commission of Nigeria in July 2007,and relieved him of his post in October 2008. He was again reappointed as minister for works in April 2010 by acting president Goodluck Jonathan.
Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim is a Nigerian politician who was governor of Sokoto State,between January 1992 and November 1993,during General Ibrahim Babangida's attempted transition to democracy. After the return to democracy in 1999,he became a power in the Zamfara State branch of the People's Democratic Party (PDP),and served for a while in the cabinet of president Olusegun Obasanjo.

Fidelis Naanmiap Tapgun was born on 1 November 1945 in Shendamm Town,plateau state. He was elected governor of Plateau State during the Nigerian Third Republic. Later he was Nigerian Ambassador to Kenya. He was appointed Federal Minister of Industry by President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Barrister Mukhtar Shehu Shagari,CFR was appointed Nigerian Minister of Water Resources in a June 2001 reshuffle of the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was later appointed President of the African Ministers Council On Water (AMCOW). Shagari held office until January 2007 when he left to compete for Deputy Governor of Sokoto State. He was elected Deputy Governor of Sokoto State in April 2007,and after a legal challenge was reelected in May 2008.
Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan,popularly known as Mama Taraba,was a Nigerian lawyer and politician who served as the Federal Minister of Women Affairs from her appointment in 2015 until her resignation in 2018. She previously served as the senator representing the Taraba North senatorial district from 2011 to 2015.
Pauline Tallen OFR is a Nigerian politician who served as the Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development from 2019 to 2023. She was appointed in 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari after turning down an ambassadorial nomination in 2015 on the grounds that she was not consulted prior to the announcement of the appointment and that she would not accept the offer for equal distribution of power among the three senatorial districts of her native state of plateau because she is from same local government as Governor Simon Lalong.
General elections were held in Nigeria on 23 February 2019 to elect the President,Vice President,House of Representatives and the Senate. The elections had initially been scheduled for 16 February,but the Electoral Commission postponed the vote by a week at 03:00 on the original polling day,citing logistical challenges in getting electoral materials to polling stations on time. In some places,the vote was delayed until 24 February due to electoral violence. Polling in some areas was subsequently delayed until 9 March,when voting was carried out alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
Ralph Okey Nwosu is the founder and the pioneer national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and was the co-chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC),the umbrella body of registered political parties in Nigeria,election committee in 2016.
