Matsuricon is a three-day anime convention held during August/September in Columbus, Ohio, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and Greater Columbus Convention Center. The convention is family friendly. [3]
The convention typically offers an artist alley, cosplay contest, dealers room, formal ball, gaming (arcade, board, video), karaoke, masquerade, and a video contest. [1] [3] [4] The Carolina Manga Library provided the conventions manga library in 2014. [4] [5] Matsuricon's 2014 charity fundraisers raised $13,916 and benefited Pelotonia. [4]
In 2012 the convention hosted the Distant Worlds concert, led by Arnie Roth. [2] [6] The concert was followed up with a meet and greet event with composer Nobuo Uematsu for VIP ticket holders. [2] [6] Matsuricon in 2018 shared convention center space with an Ohio GOP dinner that featured as a speaker President Donald Trump. Otakon is an annual three-day anime convention held during July/August. From 1999 to 2016, it took place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor district; in 2017, it moved to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The convention focuses on East Asian popular culture and its fandom. The name is a portmanteau derived from convention and the Japanese word otaku.

Anime Punch was a Columbus, Ohio-based organization that hosts a number of events for fans of Japanese animation in the Central Ohio area. It originally began hosting an annual anime convention called Anime Punch, and subsequently branched out into hosting weekly social events, monthly lectures, and other regular events, in addition to three annual anime conventions. The convention ceased operations in September 2017, due to its con chair becoming a registered sex offender.
Otakuthon is a Canadian anime convention promoting Japanese animation (anime), Japanese graphic novels (manga), related gaming and Japanese pop-culture. It is held annually for 3 days in downtown Montreal during a weekend in August. It is a non-profit, fan-run anime convention that was initiated by Concordia University's anime club, named Otaku Anime of Concordia University. The name "Otakuthon" is a portmanteau of the Japanese word "otaku" and "marathon". Otakuthon strives to be a bilingual event, having programming, the masquerade and the program book in both official languages. The first edition of Otakuthon was held in 2006 in mid-June, but later moved to early-mid August / late July from 2007 onward. The current edition, Otakuthon 2024, is being held on August 2-4, 2024 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Ohayocon is a three-day anime convention typically held during January in Columbus, Ohio, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Ohayocon's name is derived from the similarity between "Ohio", the convention's location, and Ohayou (おはよう), which means "good morning" in Japanese.

Glass City Con X Midwest Media Expo was a two-day multi-genre convention held during July at the SeaGate Convention Centre in Toledo, Ohio. The convention was created by the merger of Glass City Con and Midwest Media Expo. This event only lasted a year before becoming inactive with an uncertain future.
