Tomás "Tommy" La'O Manotoc Sr., is a Filipino golfer and former basketball coach. As a basketball coach of several Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams, Manotoc won six PBA titles, including a grand slam with the fabled Crispa Redmanizers. Manotoc is the chairman emeritus of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP). He also served as president of the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) from 2012 to 2014. He occasionally writes as a sports columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and was a TV panelist for the PBA coverage from 2000 to 2002.

The term "Marcos mansions" refers to at least 50 upscale residences in the Philippines of the family of 10th President Ferdinand Marcos. These are aside from the various overseas landholdings of the Marcos family, which are spread around the world. The Supreme Court of the Philippines considers these landholdings as part of "the ill-gotten wealth" of the Marcos family, based on the definitions set forth in Republic Act No. 1379, which had been passed in 1955.

In May 2017, the House of Representatives of the Philippines began an investigation into alleged misuse of tobacco excise tax funds in the province of Ilocos Norte from 2010 to 2016, representing the first two gubernatorial terms of Imee Marcos, who was serving her third and last gubernatorial term at the time the investigation was initiated. Marcos, her longtime partner Mark Chua, and six Ilocos Norte local officials - Pedro Agcaoili, Eden Batulayan, Josephine Calajete, Encarnacion Gaor, Genedine Jambaro, and Evangeline Tabulog - were implicated in the investigation.

Produced and distributed by Viva Films, it is the second installment film by Darryl Yap about the Marcoses after Maid in Malacañang (2022). Directed and written by Yap and produced by Vincent del Rosario III and Veronique del Rosario-Corpus, the film features Cesar Montano, Cristine Reyes, Diego Loyzaga, Ella Cruz and Ruffa Gutierrez reprising their roles, along with Isko Moreno, Marco Gumabao, Jerome Ponce, Cindy Miranda, Sachzna Laparan, Elizabeth Oropesa and Beverly Salviejo.
