Matthew Salapu-Faiumu aka Anonymouz, is a composer and sound/music/video producer of Samoan descent, based in Onehunga, New Zealand. [1] Matthew-Salapu under the name Anonymouz has been a pioneering figure within the Pacific NZ music industry for over 15 years. Within the New Zealand and Pacific music industry, he was a founding member of the Pacific Music Awards (2005) and won a Phillip Fuemana Award, Most Promising Artist in 2008. [2] [3] He was appointed by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to be the Music Director for their APO Remix the Orchestra programme (2013). [4] The show received an International Music Council (IMC) Musical Rights Award from the United Nations (2013). He was commissioned by NZ Pacific Radio stations Radio 531 PI & NIU FM to create their new imaging music which still plays every four minutes to the present day (2014). He was a part of the Aotearoa delegation that attended the Festival of Pacific Arts in Guåhan, Guam (2016). There he presented his 20-minute soundscape work Resample: Guahan to much praise.
Anonymouz has continued to have his work commissioned by prominent artists and art companies over his career. These include, Auckland Art Gallery, Auckland Theatre Company, Black Grace, Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, Royal NZ Ballet and Massey University.
Anonymouz is currently Co-Director of his arts production company 37hz Productions. [5] He shares the running of the company with his wife [6] and managing director Noma Sio-Faiumu since 2017. [7]

Fatu Akelei Feu'u is a noted Samoan painter from the village of Poutasi in the district of Falealili in Samoa. He has established a reputation as the elder statesman of Pacific art in New Zealand.
Vince Harder is a New Zealand R&B/pop recording artist and producer. He is most notable for the 2008 song "Everything" with P-Money, which reached number one in New Zealand on the New Zealand Singles Chart in 2008. In May 2010, he released the single "Say This With Me" which peaked at number 39 on the singles chart.
Kas Futialo, known by the stage name Tha Feelstyle, is a New Zealand hip hop artist of Samoan descent. His first album was Break It To Pieces in 2004. Tha Feelstyle was born in Samoa and moved to New Zealand in the 1980s. He raps in English as well as the Samoan language.
Karlo Estelle Mila is a New Zealand writer and poet of Tongan, Pālagi and Samoan descent. Her first collection, Dream Fish Floating, received the NZSA Jessie Mackay Award for Best First Book of Poetry in 2006 at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards. She has subsequently published two further poetry collections, A Well Written Body (2008) and Goddess Muscle (2020), the latter of which was longlisted for the Mary and Peter Biggs Award for Poetry.
Greg Semu is a New Zealand-born photographic artist of Samoan descent. In 1995 his exhibition O le Tatau Samona / The Tatoo Arts of Samoa was the first solo exhibition by a Samoan heritage photographer at Auckland Art Gallery.
Lemauga Lydia Sosene is a New Zealand Labour Party politician. She was a member of the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu local board from the October 2010 local elections until her election to the New Zealand House of Representatives in May 2022. After completing the balance of Louisa Wall's term as a list MP, Sosene was elected as MP for Māngere at the 2023 general election.
Pacific Underground is a New Zealand performing arts collective, founded in 1993 in Christchurch, New Zealand, to produce contemporary performing art that reflects the group's Pacific Island heritage. In 2016 they received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Pacific Music Awards. They are the longest running Pacific contemporary performing arts organisation in New Zealand.
Kolokesa Uafā Māhina-Tuai is a Tongan curator and writer, whose work explores the role of craft in Tongan society. In the 2022 New Year Honours, Māhina-Tuai was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to cultures and the arts.
Māngere Arts Centre - Ngā Tohu o Uenuku is an Auckland Council-owned and operated arts venue in the suburb of Māngere, in Auckland, New Zealand. The purpose-built facility was opened in 2010, and is considered by Auckland Council to be the home of Māori and Pacific visual art and performing arts in Auckland.
Tupe Lualua is a New Zealand-Samoan choreographer, director, founder of the dance company Le Moana. She is also the current artistic director and producer for the Measina Festival, and award winning choreographer Tupua Tigafua. In 2019 Lualua was the Creative New Zealand Samoa Artist in Residence.
FAFSWAG is an arts collective of Māori and Pacific LGBTQI+ artists and activists founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 2013. They explore and celebrate the unique identity of gender fluid Pacific people and LGBTQI+ communities in multi-disciplinary art forms. In 2020 FAFSWAG was awarded an Arts Laureate from the New Zealand Arts Foundation, and they also represented New Zealand at the Biennale of Sydney.
Pati Solomona Tyrell is an interdisciplinary artist from New Zealand who focuses on performance, videography and photography. Tyrell is a founding member of art collective FAFSWAG. In 2018 Tyrell became the youngest nominee for the Walters Prize, New Zealand's most prestigious contemporary art award, for the video work Fāgogo, subsequently purchased by Auckland Art Gallery. In 2020 Tyrell won the Arts Pasifika Awards' Emerging Pacific Artist Award.
Suli Moa is a New Zealand playwright, actor, screenwriter and teacher of Tongan descent. He wrote and performed the first Tongan Play in New Zealand, Kingdom of Lote. As a playwright Moa has been awarded the Adam New Zealand Play Award for Best Pacific Play, 12th Round (2016), and Tales of a Princess (2018). Moa's acting credits include A love yarn (2021) andSweet Tooth (2021). His writing credits include The Panthers (2021) and Shortland Street (2021-2022). Moa has also appeared in multiple short films as an actor and served as a cultural advisor.
Cora-Allan Lafaiki Twiss is a multidisciplinary Aotearoa -based artist and hiapo practitioner, Wickliffe was awarded the Arts Pasifika Award for Pacific Heritage Artist in 2020 through Creative New Zealand.
Amanaki Lelei Prescott-Faletau is an actor, writer, dancer, choreographer, producer and director of Tongan descent, living in New Zealand. As a playwright, she became the first fakaleitī to have her work published in New Zealand with Inky Pinky Ponky. This play was awarded Best Teenage Script (2015) by New Zealand Playmarket. As an actor, she was awarded best performance at the 2015 Auckland Fringe Festival for Victor Rodger's Girl on the Corner. Her acting credits include The Breaker Upperers (2018), SIS (2020), The Panthers (2021), The Pact (2021) and Sui Generis (2022), in which she is also a writer for the TV series. Faletau competed as a dancer in the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in 2011 and has been a judge at the National Hip Hop Championships in New Zealand over several years.
Pasifika New Zealanders are a pan-ethnic group of New Zealanders associated with, and descended from, the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Islands outside of New Zealand itself. They form the fourth-largest ethnic grouping in the country, after European descendants, indigenous Māori, and Asian New Zealanders. Over 380,000 people identify as being of Pacific origin, representing 8% of the country's population, with the majority residing in Auckland.

Polyfest is an annual secondary school performing arts festival celebrating Polynesian culture held in Auckland, New Zealand. It was founded in Ōtara in 1976 and is now one of the largest Polynesian festivals in the world. The festival includes a performing arts competition between secondary school students.
Noma Sio-Faiumu is an event producer and arts manager of Samoan descent based in Onehunga, New Zealand. She has worked for over 30 years as an arts administrator within the New Zealand arts industry. Her work is cross-cultural and spans a wide social spectrum facilitating multidisciplinary art projects independently and for leading arts organisations. Within arts administration, Sio-Faiumu served as the lead facilitator for the APO Remix the Orchestra for a decade. The show received an International Music Council Musical Rights Award from the United Nations in 2013. Within the New Zealand music industry she is a founding member of the Pacific Music Awards (2005). She received a Special Recognition Award at Creative New Zealand's Pasifika Arts Awards for her contributions within the Pacific community (2017).
Samoa House, also known as Maota Samoa, is a building at 283 Karangahape Road in Auckland, New Zealand. The first fale outside of Samoa, it was built using funds raised by the Samoa House Appeal Fund, and opened on 15 December 1978. The Samoa House Appeal Fund was primarily made up of local Pacific community members. Previously the home of the Samoan Consulate in Auckland, the building currently houses Samoa House Library, an independent art library and community space established following the closure of Elam's Fine Arts Library in 2018. Samoa House Library is organised by the Save Fine Arts Library Charitable Trust, and is funded by both Creative New Zealand grants and other fundraisers.
