Meedo is a genus of Australian araneomorph spiders in the family Gallieniellidae, and was first described by Barbara York Main in 1987. [2]
As of May 2019 [update] it contains thirteen species: [1]
Gradungulidae, also known as large-clawed spiders, is a spider family endemic to Australia and New Zealand. They are medium to large-sized haplogyne spiders with three claws and two pairs of book-lungs similar to Mygalomorphae. Some species build extensive webs with an upper retreat tangle and connecting threads to scaffolding. This supports the ladder-like catching platform that is glued to the ground. Progradungula, a large spider with long legs like Hickmania, and Macrogradungula are the only cribellate genera of the family.
Gallieniellidae is a family of spiders first described by J. Millot in 1947. It was originally thought to be endemic to Madagascar until species were also found in southern Kenya, northeastern Argentina, and Australia. Drassodella was transferred from the family Gnaphosidae in 1990. They are suspected to be specialized in ant-preying.
Lampona is a genus of South Pacific spiders in the family Lamponidae that was first described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1869. At least two species have a whitish tip to the abdomen and are known as "white-tailed spiders". Both hunt other spiders and have been introduced to New Zealand. The name is derived from the Middle English laumpe, meaning "light" or "fire".
Centroina is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Lamponella is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Longepi is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Notsodipus is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Paralampona is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Pseudolampona is a genus of Australian white tailed spiders that was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2000.
Gippsicola is a genus of Australian tube dwelling spiders that was first described by Henry Roughton Hogg in 1900. It is no longer considered a junior synonym of Segestria due to anatomical differences in the pedipalps of males and the receptaculum in females.
Anzacia is a genus of South Pacific ground spiders that was first described by R. de Dalmas in 1919.
Eilica is a genus of ground spiders that was first described by Eugen von Keyserling in 1891.
Tasmanoonops is a genus of Australian araneomorph spiders in the family Orsolobidae, and was first described by V. V. Hickman in 1930.
Morebilus is a genus of spiders in the family Trochanteriidae found in southern and western Australia, first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2002. These are large spiders, with the carapace of males ranging from 10 to 16 millimeters and those of females ranging from 10 to 24 millimeters. They look similar to members of Rebilus, especially the spinneret and tarsal claw, but members of this genus have an inclined lip at the anterior edge of the sternum as well as a pair of enlarged sclerites on the coxal glands.
Oreo is a genus of Australian araneomorph spiders in the family Gallieniellidae, and was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2002.
Neato is a genus of Australian araneomorph spiders in the family Gallieniellidae, and was first described by Norman I. Platnick in 2002.
