Meir is the second studio album by Norwegian heavy metal band Kvelertak. It was released on 25 March 2013 (26 March in the US) via Sony Music Scandinavia in Scandinavia, Roadrunner Records in the rest of the world, and by Indie Recordings on vinyl. The album was produced by Kurt Ballou.

Background

Meir (Norwegian for "more") was recorded at GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, United States and produced by Kurt Ballou of Converge. The cover artwork was created by John Dyer Baizley of the band Baroness. [5] The band released music videos for "Bruane Brenn", [6] "Månelyst" [7] and the self-titled track "Kvelertak". [8]

In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked Meir as 96th on their list of 'The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.' [9]

Fear Factory formed in 1989, signing to Roadrunner Records three years later. The band's debut studio album, Soul of a New Machine, was released in 1992. The album marked a significant musical departure from the metalcore sound of preceding album Ascendancy, with the band instead bringing their thrash metal influences to the fore. Accordingly, vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy sings with primarily 'clean' vocals throughout The Crusade, rather than utilizing the 'screaming' style heard on Ascendancy.

The group comprises vocalist Ivar Nikolaisen, guitarists Vidar Landa, Bjarte Lund Rolland and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard and drummer Håvard Takle Ohr. Founding member and lead singer Erlend Hjelvik left the group in 2018, being replaced by Ivar Nikolaisen. Most of Kvelertak's songs have Norwegian lyrics, and their main influences are rock and roll, black metal and punk rock.

Carter and was released on iTunes and Spotify in Scandinavia on 21 January and elsewhere on 28 January. The artwork was created by Seldon Hunt. A music video for the song was released in February 2013.
