Melton Secondary College was the first secondary school built in Melton, Victoria, Australia. The school currently offers studies in 34 VCE subjects and 23 VET subjects.
Interhouse competitions remain an integral part of the school's ethos.

Preston Lions Football Club is a semi-professional soccer club from Preston, a northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club was established in 1947 to play non-professional soccer matches against other teams in the local community until 1959, and 12 years later, they joined the Victorian Soccer Federation, the club's first season in an officially sanctioned competition. The club won promoted in 2022 from NPL 3 Victoria and in 2024 from VPL 1 to return top flight football Victoria NPL in 2025. The Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA) is a turf cricket competition based in Melbourne, Australia. There are 32 clubs each fielding four teams plus an under 15 team in the annual J.G Craig shield competition, which is regarded as the premier competition for the future of Victorian cricket. There are four divisions. In first and second grade these divisions rotate annually to ensure every club plays each other at least once every three years. In third and fourth division these do not change and the two 'leagues' are South-East and North-West.

Dingley Stars Football Club is an association football club from the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. Formed in 1974, the club was formerly known as Dingley City Soccer Club which was changed in 2004 to Southern Stars FC, and then to Dingley Stars at the end of the 2014 season. Currently competing in the Victorian State League Division 1, their senior home ground is Kingston Heath, and their juniors base at Chadwick Reserve, Howard Road, Dingle. Club colours are red and white. After an unsuccessful year in 2009, Southern Stars FC were relegated to the Victorian State League Division 2, it is the club's first time getting relegated in its 36-year history. The following year in 2010 finished 1st getting promoted back to State 1. Then in 2011 the club finished 2nd only by goal difference to be promoted to the Victorian Premier League.

A combined five league titles between the Men and Women's team have given the club the most successful record of any Turkish backed club in Australian history.
