The Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup is a men's international under-21 field hockey tournament organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. The tournament has been held since 1988 and serves as a qualification tournament for the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup. [1] Competitors must be under the age of 21 as of December 31 in the year before the tournament is held.
The tournament has been won by four different teams: India has the most titles with five and Pakistan follows with three. Malaysia and South Korea have both won the tournament once. The most recent edition was held in Muscat, Oman and was won by India. The 2021 edition, to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation. The tournament was started in 1971. It is held every four years, bridging the four years between the Summer Olympics. Pakistan is the most successful team, having won the tournament four times. The Netherlands, Australia, and Germany have each won three titles. Belgium and India have both won the tournament once.
Field hockey in India is played by the men's national team and the women's national team at the international level. Historically, both the teams are amongst the most successful Indian sports teams.

Harmanpreet Singh is an Indian field hockey player as well as the captain of the Indian national hockey team. He plays as a defender, is a penalty corner specialist, and is regarded as one of the best drag flickers in the world. He has scored the most number of international goals for India in modern day hockey. He led the team to clinch the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was his second bronze in three appearances at the Olympics. Singh also captained the team to win a gold at the 2022 Asian Games. He has won the Player of the Year title at the FIH Awards thrice.
The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup was the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was held at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar and at the 20,000 seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from 13 to 29 January 2023.
The 2021 Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup was scheduled to be the eighth edition of the Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup. The tournament was scheduled to be held in Kakamigahara, Japan from 6 to 12 April 2020. In March 2020 it was announced that the tournament would be postponed due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. On 27 October 2020 it was announced the tournament would be held from 16 to 22 August 2021. On 13 August 2021, the tournament was officially cancelled.
