The Field hockey competition at the Central American and Caribbean Games is an international field hockey event organized by the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO) as part of the Central American and Caribbean Games. The men's competition was introduced in 1982, and women's field hockey competition was first organized during the 1986 games. The winning teams qualify for the next Pan American Games.

The 1979 Pan American Games, officially the VIII Pan American Games were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, and were held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 1 to July 15, 1979. Volleyball and some baseball matches were held in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The 1980 documentary film A Step Away showcased a number of athletes competing in the Games.
The Central American and Caribbean Games are a multi-sport regional championship event, held quadrennial, typically in the middle (even) year between Summer Olympics. The games are for 32 countries and 5 territories in Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the South American Caribbean countries of Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela.
The 18th Central American and Caribbean Games were held in Maracaibo, Venezuela from August 8 to August 22, 1998, and included 31 nations and a total of 5,200 competitors.
Hersony Gadiel Canelón Vera is a male professional track and road cyclist from Venezuela. He won a silver medal for his native country at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, alongside César Marcano and Andris Hernández in the Men's Track Team Sprint, and won a gold in 2010. He competed in men's track cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Games in Rio.
Danielys Del Valle García Buitrago is a female track and road cyclist from Venezuela. She won a bronze medal for her native country at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She competed in the road race at the 2008 Olympics, placing 54th, and again in the road race at the 2012 Olympics, in which she did not finish.

The men's tournament was scheduled to be held from July 22–31, 2010, with the women's tournament finishing one day earlier, at the Parque Yldefonso Solá Morales in Caguas. The top two teams in each tournament qualified to compete at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The 16th Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships were held in the Estadio Rafael Hernández Ochoa in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, between 25–27 June 2004. The games were originally planned to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador. However, they were relocated to the state of Veracruz in Mexico in early 2004. The 2013 Men's Pan American Cup was the fourth edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial men's international field hockey championship of the Americas organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was held between 10 and 17 August 2013 in Brampton, Canada.

The field hockey competitions at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games took place at the High Performance Center in Veracruz, Mexico, from 15 to 24 November 2014. There were two competitions, one each for men and women. Seven national teams competed in the men's tournament and eight in the women's event. The top two teams in each tournament qualified to compete at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
Sofía Toccalino is an Argentine field hockey player and part of the Argentina national team. She plays with the Argentina national field hockey team, winning silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Yineisy Paola Reyes Marinez is a Dominican Republic female weightlifter, competing in the 58 kg category and representing Dominican Republic at international competitions.
The Nigeria men's national field hockey team represents Nigeria in international men's field hockey competitions. The team were awarded bronze at the 1987 All-Africa Games.
Racquetball has been included at the Central American and Caribbean Games since 1990. Over that period Mexican players have dominated the podium, winning gold at every event in Men's and Women's Doubles, and winning gold in Men's and Women's Singles all but two times each. Mexico has also won every gold medal in the Men's and Women's Team events. Venezuela has the second most medals in men's events, while the Dominican Republic has won the second most medals in women's events.

Lázara González Martínez, also known as Lázara González, is a Cuban former volleyball player who played for the Cuban women's national volleyball team. She won a silver medal at the 1985 FIVB World Cup and 1986 FIVB World Championship, and a gold medal at the 1983 and 1987 Pan American Games.
