Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city of Rivers State in Nigeria. It is the fifth most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Benin. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta. As of 2023, Port Harcourt's urban population is estimated at 3,480,000. The population of the metropolitan area of Port Harcourt is almost twice its urban area population with a 2015 United Nations estimate of 2,344,000. In 1950, the population of Port Harcourt was 59,752. Port Harcourt has grown by 150,844 since 2015, which represents a 4.99% annual change.

Aba is a city in the southeast of Nigeria and the commercial centre of Abia State. Upon the creation of Abia State in 1991, Aba was divided into two local government areas: Aba South and Aba North. Aba South is the main city centre of Abia State, located in south-east Nigeria. It is located on the Aba River. Aba is made up of many villages such as Aba-Ukwu, Eziukwu-Aba, Obuda-Aba, Umuokpoji-Aba and other villages that have been merged for administrative convenience. Aba is a major urban settlement and commercial centre in its region, which is surrounded by small villages and towns. The indigenous people of Aba are the Ngwa. Aba is well known for its craftsmen and also the most populous city in the Southeastern Nigeria. As of 2016, Aba had an estimated population of 2,534,265. The state's slogan is "God's Own State".
Obio-Akpor is a local government area in the metropolis of Port Harcourt, one of the major centres of economic activities in Nigeria, and one of the major cities of the Niger Delta, located in Rivers State, with industries and companies like Pabod Breweries, Coca-Cola Company, Indomie Company and Portharcourt Electricity Distribution Plc. The local government area covers 260 km2 (100 sq mi) and at the 2006 Census held a population of 464,789. Its postal code or ZIP code is 500102. Obio-Akpor has its headquarters at Rumuodomaya and it is peopled by the Ikwerre. Obio-Akpor is also known for fisheries and aquaculture.
The University of Port Harcourt is located in Choba in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, it is located in Niger-Delta region of Nigeria. It was established in 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt and was given university status in 1977. The University of Port Harcourt was ranked the sixth in Africa and the first in Nigeria by Times Higher Education in 2015. In July 2021, Prof. George Owunari was appointed substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Port Harcourt Local Government Area (PHALGA) is a local government area of Rivers State in southern Nigeria. It is one of the 23 local government areas created for the state. Its administrative seat is located in Port Harcourt. Although the local government consists of two different ethnic groups the Ikwerre and Obulom (Abuloma). The Abuloma people of Rivers State speak Obulom- Ochichi language.

Our Lady of Fatima College is a Roman Catholic, all-girls, boarding high school in Borokiri, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt. The school was established on 7 November 1994 with just 60 students admitted into JSS1. They were later divided into two arms of 30 students each. The first principal was Rev. Sr. Mary Francis Ikwenobe (EHJ). The current principal since 2017 is Rev. Sr. Rachel-Marie Okolorie (EHJ).
Government Comprehensive Secondary School (GCSS) is the premier comprehensive secondary school in Nigeria. It is located in the Borokiri neighbourhood of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. The school was established through the collaboration of the United States Government of John F. Kennedy represented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the then government of Eastern Region, Nigeria in 1962. Its foundation teaching staff were professors of the University of California, Los Angeles, led by Professor Lynne C. Monroe. Monroe was principal of the school from inception until June 1964 when he returned to UCLA.
Roseline Sonayee Konya is a Nigerian academic and a politician from Khana, Rivers State. She is a professor of Toxicology and Pharmacology at the University of Port Harcourt. She served as Commissioner for Environment in the cabinet of Governor Peter Odili and was re-appointed to same office in the cabinet of Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. She was also the Chairman of Civil Service Commission in 1997.
