They qualified for the Olympic Games, finishing thirteenth at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and achieving their best ISU Championship result when they placed fifth at the 2015 European Championships.

The ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships (WJSSC) are the junior world championships for the sport of synchronized skating. Held first time in 2013 and originally planned to be held biennially, the WJSSC is now an annual event sanctioned by the International Skating Union.

The 2017 World Figure Skating Championships were held 29 March – 2 April 2017 in Helsinki, Finland. The host was named in June 2014. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing. The event also determined the number of entries for each country at the 2018 World Championships and the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The national chess championship of Mexico has been organized annually since 1973 by FENAMAC, the Mexican chess federation. Known since 1997 as the National Absolute Championship and previously as the National Closed Championship, it was initially organized as a round-robin tournament. However, several editions in the 1990s were organized as a series of elimination matches, and the championship is currently run as a Swiss-system tournament. In some years it serves as a qualifying stage for the FIDE World Chess Championship and is designated as sub-Zonal tournament 2.3.1 in such cases. Donovan Daniel Carrillo Suazo is a Mexican figure skater. He is the 2023 NRW Trophy silver medalist, 2023 Tayside Trophy silver medalist, 2019 Philadelphia International silver medalist, and a seven-time Mexican national champion. He has competed in the final segment at six ISU Championships – three World Championships, four Four Continents, and the 2018 World Junior Championships. He has earned the highest placement by any Mexican skater at a World Championships and qualified to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Mina Zdravkova is a competitive ice dancer for Bulgaria. The Brazilian Figure Skating Championships are held annually to crown the national champions of Brazil. Figure skaters compete in men's singles and women's singles.

Maria Joaquina Cavalcanti Reikdal is a Brazilian figure skater and artistic roller skater. She is the 2023 World Artistic Inline Skating junior champion and 2021 silver medalist, the 2023 South American Inline Artistic Skating champion, and three-time Brazilian artistic inline skating junior national champion (2021-2023).

National figure skating championships for the 2024–25 season will take place mainly from December 2024 to January 2025. They will be held to crown national champions and to serve as part of the selection process for international events, such as the 2025 ISU Championships. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. Several countries chose to organize their national championships together with their neighbors; the results will be subsequently divided into national podiums.
