Michael J. Marcotte (born 1958) is a Republican politician who was elected and is a current member of the Vermont House of Representatives. [1] He represents the Orleans-2 Representative District. He is also the current Select Board Chairman for the Town of Coventry, VT. [2]

The Orleans-2 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census.

The government of Vermont is a republican form of government modeled after the Government of the United States. The Constitution of Vermont is the supreme law of the state, followed by the Vermont Statutes. This is roughly analogous to the Federal United States Constitution, United States Code and Code of Federal Regulations respectively. Provision is made for the following frame of government under the Constitution of the State of Vermont: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. All members of the executive and legislative branch serve two-year terms including the governor and senators. There are no term limits for any office.

He is also a certified fire instructor, a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Milton Firefighters Association, and is the Milton Fire and Rescue Chief and Forest Fire Warden.

The 2012 United States Senate election in Vermont was held on November 6, 2012, alongside the presidential election, other elections to the United States Congress, as well as various state and local elections. Incumbent Independent U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders won re-election to a second term in a landslide, capturing nearly three-quarters of the vote.

2018 United States Senate election in Vermont

The 2018 United States Senate election in Vermont was held November 6, 2018, alongside a gubernatorial election, U.S. House election, and other state and local elections. Incumbent independent Senator Bernie Sanders was re-elected to a third term. The primaries were held on August 14.

The 2017–18 season was Coventry City's 134th season in their existence and their first in the English fourth tier for 59 years, League Two, following relegation the previous season. Along with competing in League Two, the club participated in three cup competitions: FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.
