A civil parish in England is the lowest unit of local government. There are 284 civil parishes in the ceremonial county of Cumbria, with most of the county being parished. At the 2001 census, there were 359,692 people living in those 284 parishes, accounting for 73.8 per cent of the county's population.
Sedbergh is a town and civil parish in the ceremonial county of Cumbria. It falls within the historic boundaries of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Since April 2023, it has been administered by Westmorland and Furness local authority. The 2001 census gave the parish a population of 2,705, increasing at the 2011 census to 2,765. It lies about 10 miles (16 km) east of Kendal, 28 miles (45 km) north of Lancaster and about 10 miles (16 km) north of Kirkby Lonsdale, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It stands at the foot of Howgill Fells, on the north bank of the River Rawthey, which joins the River Lune 2 miles (3 km) below the town.
Patterdale is a small village and civil parish in the Westmorland and Furness district of Cumbria, England. It is in the eastern part of the Lake District, and the name is also used for the long valley in which the village sits, also called the Ullswater Valley. The parish had a population of 460 in 2001, increasing to 501 at the 2011 census.

The village of Bothel is south-east of the parish of Aspatria and Threapland is south of Aspatria and Carlisle is eighteen miles (29 km) North-east of the parish. It had a population of 483 in the 2011 census figures.
Henhull is a former civil parish, now in the parishes of Burland and Acton and Nantwich, in the unitary authority area of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, which lies to the north west of Nantwich. For administrative purposes, it was combined with adjacent civil parishes of Acton and Edleston to form a total area of 765 hectares. The parish was predominantly rural with scattered farms and houses and no large settlements. In 2019 a 1,100-house development called Kingsbourne was being built in the east of the parish as an extension to the town of Nantwich. Henhull civil parish also included the hamlets of Basin End, Bluestone, Welshmen's Green and part of Burford. Nearby villages include Acton and Rease Heath.
Cartmel Fell is a hamlet and a civil parish in the Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 309, increasing at the 2011 census to 329. The village of Cartmel and Cartmel Priory are not in this parish but in Lower Allithwaite, to the south: Cartmel Fell church is about 7 miles (11 km) north of Cartmel Priory.

The parish includes the hamlets of Bodsham, North Leigh, and Evington. Elmsted had a population of 312 according to the 2021 Census.

In 2001 the parish had a population of 6. From 1858 Geltsdale was a civil parish in its own right. On 1 April 2003 the parish was abolished and merged with Castle Carrock.
Nicholforest is a civil parish in Cumbria, England bordering Scotland. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 census was 372. The parish covers an area that extends about 10 miles east to west and 2 miles north to south. The area was once an extensive forest between England and Scotland, and was a centre for commercial forestry by the Forestry Commission. Today there are still many trees, watered by the River Liddle In 1870–72 John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described the landscape as:
