Midnight Machines is the fifth extended play recorded by Canadian electropop singer-songwriter Lights. It was released April 8, 2016 through Warner Bros. Records. The collection serves as a companion to her 2014 album, Little Machines , featuring six acoustic versions of tracks from that album alongside two newly-recorded songs. [1] Midnight Machines received praise from critics for its maturity and earned Lights her sixth top ten album in Canada.
Midnight Machines was announced and became available for pre-order on March 4, 2016. [2] The acoustic version of "Meteorites" was released to digital retailers that day as the EP's only promotional single. [3] An official music video for the song also premiered March 4. [4] The EP was released April 8, 2016 in digital, physical, and vinyl formats.

Matt Collar of AllMusic rated the EP four stars out of five and wrote that the "folky, intimate nature" of Midnight Machines allows Lights to "wring even more depth and illumination from the songs." He also wrote that the EP "plays less like an acoustic afterthought and more like [a] sincerely crafted work." [1] Sarah Towle of Exclaim! rated the EP eight out of ten and wrote that "if Little Machines made you want dance, its counterpart Midnight Machines is what you want on at the after party, when the lights go down and shit gets real." [5] Brendon Veevers of Renowned for Sound gave the EP a perfect five stars out of five review and wrote that the record "marks a new level of skill and craft in the Lights repertoire" with "pristine, precise and perfectly executed re-imaginations." [6]
Midnight Machines debuted at number nine on the Billboard Canadian Albums Chart dated April 30, 2016. [7] This earned Lights her sixth top ten album on the chart. [8] In the United States, the EP entered the Billboard 200 at number 104 and the Vinyl Albums sales chart at number 16. [9] [10]

Death of a Bachelor is the fifth studio album by Panic! at the Disco, and their first as a solo project, released January 15, 2016 on Fueled by Ramen and DCD2. It is the follow-up to the band's fourth studio album, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! (2013), with the entire album written and recorded by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie, who collaborated with other writers including Jake Sinclair, Morgan Kibby, Lolo, and Sam Hollander. It is the band's first album to not feature drummer Spencer Smith and also follows bassist Dallon Weekes' departure from the official line-up, subsequently becoming a touring member once again.
Brett Charles Young is an American country pop singer-songwriter from Orange County, California. He was a college baseball pitcher but took up songwriting after an elbow injury. His self-titled debut EP, produced by Dann Huff, was released by Republic Nashville on February 12, 2016. The lead single, "Sleep Without You", was released on April 11, and he had a major success with his following single, "In Case You Didn't Know". He released his second major label album Ticket to L.A. in 2018.

No Plan is an extended play, comprising songs written and recorded by English musician David Bowie, released posthumously on 8 January 2017. The release coincided with what would have been Bowie's 70th birthday, almost a year after his death. No Plan compiles the original songs written for Bowie's Off-Broadway musical, Lazarus, including the titular "Lazarus", "No Plan", "Killing a Little Time", and "When I Met You". The songs were first recorded by the cast of the musical as part of its official soundtrack. The recordings featured on No Plan come from the sessions for Bowie's twenty-fifth and final studio album Blackstar, with "Lazarus" appearing as the third track on the album. Upon release, No Plan debuted at #138 on the Billboard 200, selling more than 5,000 units in its first week there. The music video for the title track was also released in accompaniment with the EP. It was directed by Tom Hingston.
Skin&Earth is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Lights. The album was released on September 22, 2017 through Warner Bros. Records. The album was preceded by release of her single "Giants", as well as three other songs released promotionally. The album has charted number three in Canada and ninety-fifth in the US. Similar to her past albums, Skin&Earth incorporates electronic and pop elements. Lights created the album alongside her comic book of the same name, which was initially released July 2017. Lights' latest and final issue in the series was released December 13, 2017, and a trade paperback was released April 3, 2018.
