Miffy the Movie (originally released under the title Nijntje de film in the Netherlands) is a 2013 Dutch stop motion [2] animated family film, based on the Miffy character created by Dick Bruna. Produced by KRO [3] and A. Film A/S, [4] the movie debuted on 30 January 2013 in the Netherlands. [5]
The series is animated in the style of Miffy and Friends , the first television adaptation of Miffy.
The titular rabbit, Miffy, goes on a treasure hunt at a zoo. Along with her friends Snuffy the dog, Melanie the rabbit and Grunty the pig, she is able to complete the quest through problem-solving.

The film was first announced on 18 May 2010, with an expected release date of November 2011. [6] Production was delayed for unknown reasons, and the first trailer for Miffy the Movie was released in 2012. [7] The film was first screened in the Netherlands, its country of origin, and was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. On 22 March 2013, the film was released in Japan. [8] In Canada, Miffy the Movie premiered as part of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. [9] The movie saw its Australian release on 11 May 2013; [10] for this country, Miffy the Movie was distributed by Transmission Films. [11]
The film was released in several additional countries in 2015, to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the "Miffy" character. The movie was released in Poland on 1 June 2015 [12] and in the United Kingdom on 21 June 2015. [13]
A Dutch-language DVD was released on 26 June 2013 in the Netherlands. [14] A German disc was released on 9 March 2014 [15] and a Region 1 DVD featuring an English audio track was released on 2 December 2014 in North America, [16] despite the film not getting a theatrical release in Germany and the United States.

Dick Bruna was a Dutch author, artist, illustrator and graphic designer.
Miffy is a fictional rabbit appearing in a series of picture books drawn and written by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. The original Dutch name, "nijntje", is a shortening of the diminutive konijntje, "little rabbit".
Richard Edmund Williams was a Canadian-British animator, voice actor, and painter. A three-time Academy Award winner, he is best known as the animation director on Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) -- for which he won two Academy Awards -- and as the director of his unfinished feature film The Thief and the Cobbler (1993). His work on the short film A Christmas Carol (1971) earned him his first Academy Award. He was also a film title sequence designer and animator. Other works in this field include the title sequences for What's New Pussycat? (1965) and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966) and title and linking sequences in The Charge of the Light Brigade and the intros of the eponymous cartoon feline for two of the later Pink Panther films. In 2002 he published The Animator's Survival Kit, an authoritative manual of animation methods and techniques, which has since been turned into a 16-DVD box set as well as an iOS app. From 2008 he worked as artist in residence at Aardman Animations in Bristol, and in 2015 he received both Oscar and BAFTA nominations in the best animated short category for his short film Prologue.
The Animation Show is a touring festival of animated short films that was first held in fall 2003. It was sponsored by MTV, and was created by award-winning animators Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt. Due to its association with MTV, the showcase was not intended for children, as the festival was more aimed at adult audiences, with its main kid-friendly equivalent being Nickelodeon's Nicktoons Film Festival, presented by Frederator Studios.

It is based on the animated web series Dick Figures. The film was written and directed by Ed Skudder and Zack Keller and produced by Nick Butera and Andy Fiedler. Job, Joris & Marieke is a Dutch animation studio founded by Job Roggeveen (1979), Joris Oprins (1980) and Marieke Blaauw (1979).
Joris Oprins is an animation director. He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He graduated in 2003. In 2005 he worked as an animator on the stop motion children series Miffy at studio Pedri in Ankeveen. In 2007 he co-founded animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke together with Job Roggeveen and Marieke Blaauw. Job, Joris & Marieke works on commissioned work, music videos and short animated films.

Miffy's Adventures Big and Small is a CGI-animated television series based on the Miffy book series by Dutch artist Dick Bruna, and a continuation of Miffy and Friends (2003–07). The series first aired on October 2, 2015 on Tiny Pop in the UK and aired on NPO Zappelin in the Netherlands and on the Nick Jr. Channel in the US. The series finale aired on June 15, 2019.
