Minions 3 is an upcoming 2026 American computer-animated Comedy film produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination. It serves as the sequel to Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022), a prequel to Despicable Me (2010) and the seventh overall of the Despicable Me franchise. It will directed by Pierre Coffin and starring Steve Carell and Pierre Coffin.
On July 11, 2024, Chris Meledandri announced a film sequel to Minions: The Rise of Gru along with a June 30, 2027 release. [1]
Minions 3 was originally planned to release in the United States on June 30, 2027, On January 10, 2025, it was changed to July 1, 2026 taking over the original release date for Dreamworks Animation Shrek 5 . [2]
