Mirazur is a restaurant in Menton, France rated with three stars by the Michelin Guide. [1]

The restaurant is run by Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco, who previously worked with Bernard Loiseau, Alain Passard, Alain Ducasse and Guy Martin. [2] He opened Mirazur in 2006 at the age of 29. [3] He was awarded his first Michelin star within a year, followed by the second star in 2012. [4] In 2019, Colagreco became the first chef not born in France to be awarded three stars in the French edition of the Guide Michelin . [5]

World's 50 Best Restaurants

In 2019, Mirazur was voted the best restaurant in the world in the Restaurant Top 50. [6] [7] It had been in 3rd place in 2018 and 4th in 2017. [8] [9] The Top 50 first featured Mirazur in 2009, in 35th place, and it climbed the list over the following years, including a jump from 28th place to 11th in 2014. [6] [10]

Often working as a barometer of global gastronomic trends, the list showcases a variety of cuisines from all over the world. The top restaurants have sometimes been forerunners of molecular gastronomy. Most of the restaurants serve haute cuisine, which is characterized by the meticulous preparation and careful presentation of food.

His Chicago restaurant Alinea has won numerous accolades and Achatz himself has won numerous awards from prominent culinary institutions and publications, including the Food and Wine's "best new chefs" award in 1998, "Rising Star Chef of the Year Award" for 1999, "Best Chef in the United States" for 1998 and a 2003 "Who's Who Inductee" from the James Beard Foundation.

Maison Pic

Maison Pic is a top five star hotel and restaurant located in Valence, Drôme, France. Established in 1889 by Eugene and Sophie Pic, the restaurant first earned the prestigious 3 Michelin stars in 1939 under their son André Pic (1893–1984). It lost its third star in 1946, and its second star in 1950. André's son Jacques Pic, who initially did not want to become a chef, decided to train as a chef in order to eventually take over from his father with the goal of regaining the stars. Under Jacques, the restaurant won back its second star in 1959 and its third in 1973. It kept the rating until 1995, three years after Jacques' death, after which it lost its third star. In 1997, Jacques' daughter Anne-Sophie Pic took over the restaurant from her brother Alain Pic, and it regained its third star in 2007. Pic is the only female chef in France to hold three Michelin stars.
