Miss Asia Pacific International 2016, was an international beauty contest held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines on November 23, 2016. [2] Forty women from all over the world vied for the crown and for the title of Miss Asia Pacific International.

Tessa Helena le Conge of the Netherlands won the pageant and was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2016. [3] [4]

History

The oldest beauty pageant of its kind in Asia, MAPI commenced in the Philippines in 1968. [5]

After 10 year-hiatus and managerial changes, Miss Asia Pacific International was re-launched and revived in 2016 under new ownership and management headed by MAPI President, Jacqueline Tan-Sainz.

Miss Earth 2018, the 18th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, with the theme "Goddesses of the Earth", was held on November 3, 2018, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Karen Ibasco of the Philippines crowned her successor Nguyễn Phương Khánh of Vietnam at the end of the event. Previously, the Philippine franchise for Miss Universe was under Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. The coronation night was initially scheduled for 3 May 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it moved at least twice; first to 14 June 2020, and later to 25 October 2020, at the Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio Country Club in Baguio, Benguet, Philippines.
