Binibining Pilipinas is the oldest active national beauty pageant in the Philippines. Founded in 1964, it currently selects Filipina representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants—Miss International, as well as representatives to other international pageants, such as The Miss Globe.
The Miss Globe is an international beauty pageant held annually since 1925. Initially known as Dream Girl International or Boston Globe, the contest was rebranded as Miss Globe in 1975. There are three Miss Globe pageants, which are spin-offs from the original Miss Globe founded by Charlie See. The founder and coordinator of these trademarks is Mr. Alien Mouradian, also known as Charlie See. Miss Globe was registered with the Bureau of Patents and Trademarks in Washington, D.C., in 1975.
