Miss Earth United States 2017 was the 13th edition of Miss Earth United States pageant that was held at Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall in Alexandria, Virginia. Corrin Stellakis of New York crowned her successor Andreia Gibau of Massachusetts as Miss Earth United States 2017. Gibau represented the United States in the Miss Earth 2017 pageant in the Philippines. [1] [2]

The pageant held its pre-pageant activities and preliminary events in the Washington metropolitan area prior to the crowning event.

Pageant

Pageant activities and preliminary rounds took place from August 2–6, 2017, in the Washington metropolitan area, which included a service day in Washington, D.C., with delegates from the Teen, Miss, and Elite divisions.

Additionally, delegates were scored on their social media activity leading up to the national pageant, as well as their environmental project that occurred in June for the organization's Think Local, Act Global initiative.

All phases of the pageant were available via livestream on the Miss Earth United States Facebook page.

During the final competition, the top 20 competed in runway, while the top 15 also competed in swimsuit, and the top ten in evening gown. The top four competed in an on-stage question round where they were scored on their response to what their legacy would be during their reign as Miss Earth United States.

Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008 prior to her suspension in October 2022, thus returning the said pageants to the Miss Universe Organization.

Crystle represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, which was held in Vietnam, where she placed in the Top 10. Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma crowned her successor, Deshauna Barber of the District of Columbia, at the end of the event. Barber became the first African American to win the Miss USA title since Crystle Stewart in 2008, and this was District of Columbia's third title and the first title since 2002. Miss World America 2016 was the 8th edition of the Miss World America pageant held on July 8, 2016, at the National Harbor, Washington, D.C. Victoria Mendoza of Arizona crowned her successor Audra Mari of North Dakota at the end of the event. she represented the United States at the Miss World 2016 pageant on December 20 in Washington, D.C., and placed Top 11.

Miss Teen USA 2019 was the 37th Miss Teen USA pageant. It was held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on April 28, 2019, and was hosted by Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez and Tim Tialdo. Hailey Colborn of Kansas crowned her successor Kaliegh Garris of Connecticut at the end of the event. This was the first time in the history of Miss Teen USA winning back-to-back titles by African Americans.

Miss World America 2018 was the 10th edition of the Miss World America beauty pageant. The pageant was won by Marisa Butler of Maine, with the previous year's pageant winner, Clarissa Bowers of Florida crowning her successor. This edition of the pageant differed from previous editions as the winner was selected through a video submission contest, as opposed to a standard pageant event.

Miss World America 2017, also referred to as America's Miss World 2017, was the 9th edition of the Miss World America pageant and it was held in the Linda Chapin Theater in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and was won by Clarissa Bowers of Florida. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Audra Mari of North Dakota. Bowers went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 2017 Pageant in Sanya, China later that year. She finished in the Top 40 at Miss World.

Miss USA 2020 was the 69th Miss USA pageant. It was held at the Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, on November 9, 2020. Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Allie LaForce served as hosts, while Cheslie Kryst and Christian Murphy served as backstage commentators, and Haley Reinhart performed. Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina crowned Asya Branch of Mississippi as her successor at the end of the event. Branch is the second consecutive African American to win the title, and the fourth one in five years. This is Mississippi's first win at the Miss USA pageant. Branch represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant and placed in the Top 21.
