Mister World 2024 will be the eleventh edition of the Mister World competition, held on 28 September 2024 at NovaWorld Phan Thiết in Bình Thuận, Vietnam. [1]

Location and date

On 17 March 2024, the organizer of the Mister World pageant, announced on their official social that the 11th edition of the contest was scheduled to be held in Vietnam on September 2024. [2] This will be the first time for Vietnam to host the contest and the third time an Asian country has hosted the contest, after Korea in 2010 and the Philippines in 2019. The memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between the Miss World organization and the local organizer Sen Vàng Entertainment, which also organizes the Mister World Vietnam competition, took place during the press conference of the inaugural edition of Mister World Vietnam contest at Vertical Garden Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City on 22 June 2024. Attending this event were Mister World 2019 Jack Heslewood and Miss World 2023 Krystyna Pyszková. [3] [4]

The contest is scheduled to take place between September 12-29, going through many locations such as Phan Thiet City, Vung Tau City, and Nam Cat Tien National Park. [5] This year, the contest will include several activities including pre-final challenge events, body art photo shoot session, and election of "Nam Cat Tien Green Environment Ambassador". [6]

Until 2022, the pageant used to select the country's representative to the Miss Universe, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants under the name Miss Universe Vietnam but ultimately changed to the current English name after losing the license in 2023. Along with Miss Vietnam and Miss World Vietnam, Miss Cosmo Vietnam is one of the Big Three national beauty pageants.

<i>Glorious Ashes</i> 2022 film

Glorious Ashes is a 2022 Vietnamese-language drama film directed and written by Bùi Thạc Chuyên. It is an adaptation of two short stories, Glorious Ashes and Drifting Firewood, taken from the Đảo (Island) short story collection by Vietnamese writer Nguyễn Ngọc Tư. The film has an ensemble cast including Lê Công Hoàng, Juliet Bảo Ngọc Doling, Phương Anh Đào, Ngô Quang Tuấn, Ngô Phạm Hạnh Thuý, Thạch Kim Long, Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hiệp and Mai Thế Hiệp. Set in Thơm Rơm village of Cà Mau, the story revolves around three women, their journey of love and their efforts to keep their men. The imagery of fire and ashes appears throughout as a metaphor for the passion and longing of these women.

Mr World Vietnam is a beauty pageant in Vietnam that selects the country's representatives to the Mister World pageant. The current Mr World Vietnam titleholder is Phạm Tuấn Ngọc from Haiphong, who was crowned on July 14, 2024.
