Mišar (Serbian : Мишар) is a town in the municipality of Šabac, Serbia. According to the 2002 census, the town has a population of 2,217 people. [1]

History

In August 1806, the Battle of Mišar occurred in this village. [2]

Quaid-e-Azam Residency

Quaid-e-Azam Residency, also known as Ziarat Residency, is located in Ziarat, Balochistan, Pakistan. It is where Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah spent the last two months and ten days of his life, nursed by A. S. Nathaniel. It is the most famous landmark of the city, constructed in 1892 during the British Raj. The building is a wooden structure, originally designed as a sanatorium before being converted into the summer residence of the agent of the Governor General. It is declared a heritage site and is of great architectural importance.

Battle of Mišar

The Battle of Mišar took place from 12 to 15 August 1806, with a Serbian victory over the Ottomans. For months the Serbian insurgents remained entrenched in sconces on the field of Mišar Hill as a pitched battle itself seemed suicidal from the Serbian standpoint since their army of 8,000 men stood against an Ottoman force some 40,000 strong.
