Moneilema variolare is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. [1] It was described by Thomson in 1867. [1] It has been identified as a pest on Lophocereus marginatus. Adults feed on L. marginatus, and females then lay eggs inside the plant. [2]
The longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae), also known as long-horned or longicorns, are a large family of beetles, with over 35,000 species described.
Phlaeothripidae is a family of thrips with hundreds of genera. They are the only extant family of the suborder Tubulifera, alongside the extinct family Rohrthripidae and are themselves ordered into two subfamilies, the Idolothripinae with 80 genera, and the Phlaeothripinae with almost 400. Some 3,400 species are recognised in this family, and many are fungivores living in the tropics.
Moneilema appressum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by John Lawrence LeConte in 1852.
Moneilema armatum is a species of flat-faced longhorn in the family of beetles known as Cerambycidae. It is found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. The flightless beetles often feed on prickly pear cactus, boring into the stems and roots.
Moneilema aterrimum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Fisher in 1931.
Moneilema blapsides is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Newman in 1838.
Moneilema ebeninum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Henry Walter Bates in 1885.
Moneilema manni is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Psota in 1930.
Moneilema crassipes is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Fisher in 1931.
Moneilema longipes is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by White in 1856.
Moneilema mexicanum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Fisher in 1926.
Moneilema punctipenne is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Fisher in 1926.
Moneilema michelbacheri is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Linsley in 1942.
Moneilema subrugosum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Bland in 1862.
Moneilema semipunctatum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by John Lawrence LeConte in 1852. It is known commonly as the cactus borer beetle. Beetles of genus Moneilema are known commonly as cactus longhorn beetles. It is native to North America, where it occurs in the western United States and Mexico.
Moneilema rugosissimum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Casey in 1924.
Moneilema albopictum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by White in 1856.
Moneilema annulatum is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Say in 1824.
Rhynocoris marginatus is a species of assassin bug in the family Reduviidae. It is a predator of other insects and is found in Asia. Crops in India on which it has been found feeding on pests include sugarcane, pigeon pea, cardamom, cotton, tea, and peanuts. The insects are potentially useful in biological control because they are more resistant to pesticides than are the pests on which they feed.
Deporaus marginatus, commonly known as the mango leaf-cutting weevil, is a species of leaf weevil in the beetle family Attelabidae. It is a light tan colour with black elytra, and is found in tropical Asia where it is a pest of mango.
