Nandi Awards for the year 2015 announced by Andhra Pradesh Government on 14 November 2017. [1] The S. S. Rajamouli starrer Baahubali: The Beginning emerged as a big winner with a record 13 awards for the year. [2] The NTR National award for the year was conferred on director K. Raghavendra Rao. [3]

Controversy

Director Ram Gopal Varma and Gunasekhar criticised that the selection of awards are biased, the Rudhramadevi (film), which is about women empowerment was not considered as best films. [5] [6] [7]

Suresh Krissna is an Indian film director who has directed Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi Language films. His first independent film as a director was Sathya (1988), with Kamal Haasan. He is well known for having directed Rajinikanth in four films which include, Annamalai (1992), Veera (1994), Baashha (1995) and Baba (2002). The NTR National Award is an annual award presented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Cinema of India. It is an honorary Nandi Award in the honour of N. T. Rama Rao, actor and politician who also served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The Award carries a cash prize of 500,000/- and a memento.

Nandi Awards for the year 2014 announced by Andhra Pradesh Government on 14 November 2017. The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Legend emerged as a big winner by winning eight awards for the year. The NTR National award for the year was conferred upon actor Kamal Haasan.
