Nandi Awards for the year 2014 announced by Andhra Pradesh Government on 14 November 2017. [1] The Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Legend emerged as a big winner by winning eight awards for the year. [2] The NTR National award for the year was conferred upon actor Kamal Haasan. [3]

Controversy

There was a huge uproar about Nandi Awards jury committee. Many film producers, directors, film critics and public had a contradicting view on the awards' final list. Film critic Kaathi Mahesh said the awards selection committee has a conflict of interest in awarding the final list. He named film actor Balakrishna in his statement.

Sagara Sangamam is a 1983 Indian Telugu-language dance film written and directed by K. Viswanath and produced by Edida Nageswara Rao. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Jaya Prada, Sarath Babu, S. P. Sailaja and Chakri Toleti. Upon release, the film received positive reviews and became a box office hit. The film has received two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South and the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film (Bronze).

Nandamuri Balakrishna, widely known as Balakrishna and Balayya is an Indian actor, producer and politician known for his works in Telugu cinema. Balakrishna is an elected member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Hindupuram constituency since 2014. The sixth son of veteran actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao, Balakrishna made his debut as a child artist at the age of 14 with the film Tatamma Kala (1974). Balakrishna is a recipient of three state Nandi Awards and one South Indian International Movie Award. In 2012, Balakrishna was the chief guest at the 43rd IFFI. Currently He serves as the Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Hyderabad.

Nandi Awards for the year 2016 were announced by Andhra Pradesh Government on 14 November 2017. Both Janatha Garage and Sathamanam Bhavati emerged as big winners, with 6 awards each for the year. The NTR National award for the year was conferred on actor Rajinikanth.

Chella Ram and Chella Lakshman are an Indian action choreographer duo who work primarily in Telugu cinema. They got six state Nandi Awards for Best Fight Master. They worked with Vikram Dharma, Kanal Kannan, Peter Hein, Stun Shiva, FEFSI Vijayan, Vijay, Anal Arasu, Stunt Silva, Dhilip Subbarayan, Ravi Varma and Anbariv.
