The Avenues is a neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is named after the perfectly gridlike, closely laid out roads called Avenues and Streets. First surveyed in the 1850s, the Avenues became Salt Lake City's first neighborhood. Today, the Avenues neighborhood is generally considered younger, more progressive, and somewhat "artsy" when compared to other neighborhoods. Many young professionals choose to live there due to the culture and easy commute to downtown.. It is also one of the most important strongholds of the Democratic political party in Utah.

The Midtown Historic District is a historic district in the city of Mobile, Alabama, United States. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 2001. It is roughly bounded by Taylor Avenue, Government Street, Houston Street, Kenneth Street, Springhill Avenue, and Florida Street. The district covers 467 acres (1.89 km2) and contains 1,270 contributing buildings. The majority of the contributing buildings range in age from the 1880s to the 1950s and cover a wide variety of architectural styles. The district was significantly affected by a tornado on December 25, 2012.
The Washington Park Historic District is a national historic district located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 24, 2008. It comprises nearly 60 acres (240,000 m2) and is located 4 miles (6.4 km) north of downtown Indianapolis, in the south-central part of the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood. The district includes all properties south of 43rd Street and north of 40th Street, and west of Central Avenue and east of the alley running north and south between Pennsylvania and Meridian Streets; Washington Boulevard runs north-south through the center of the district. It includes 110 contributing buildings, ranging mostly from mansions to small bungalows, and three non-contributing buildings.

The original district included 20 city blocks and nine partial city blocks, and was bounded by the Chattahoochee River on the west, Ninth Street on the north, Fourth Avenue on the east, and Fourth Street on the south.

The district is notable for the large number of well-preserved late 19th and early 20th-century houses, and includes a major cross-section of residential architecture designed by the noted Little Rock architect Charles L. Thompson. It is the oldest city neighborhood to retain its residential character.

Many architectural styles are present in the districts, most from the late 19th century and early 20th century, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Italianate, Art Deco, Late Victorian, and Bungalow.

Downtown Altoona Historic District is a national historic district located at Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 240 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Altoona. The buildings were primarily built after about 1860 and include residential, civic, social, and religious buildings. Although it does not encompass the entire downtown, it is for the most part the most urban part of Altoona's downtown district. Notable buildings include the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (1920s), First Methodist Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church (1896-1897), U.S. Post Office (1931-1933), Fraternal Order of Eagles Building, Altoona City Hall, Casanave Building (1890s), Hutchison Block, McCrory's Department Store (1937), and Aaron-Penn Furniture Building. Located in the district are the separately listed Central Trust Company Buildings, Mishler Theatre, and Penn Alto Hotel.
The West Ninth Streetcar Line Historic District is located in the north-central section of Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The focus of the district is West Ninth Street from University Avenue on the south to Hickman Road on the north, which had a street car line that ran on it. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1998. It is part of the Towards a Greater Des Moines MPS.

Ninth Street Hill Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. The district encompasses 88 contributing buildings and 6 contributing structures in a predominantly residential section of Lafayette. It developed between about 1850 and 1946 and includes representative examples of Gothic Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Greek Revival, and Second Empire style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Judge Cyrus Ball House. Other notable contributing resources include the Samuel Moore House (1891), Moore-Porter-Boswell House (1895), Stanley Coulter House (1890), Edward Bohrer House (1909), Thomas Wood House, Job M. Nash House (1859), and Gordon Graham House.
The Portland Thirteenth Avenue Historic District is a 11.7-acre (4.7 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
Sevierville Commercial Historic District is a 3.5 acres (1.4 ha) historic district in Sevierville, Tennessee. It has 21 contributing buildings along sections of Bruce Street, Court Avenue, and Commerce Street including the Sevier County Courthouse. The courthouse was built in 1896 one block south of the town square where the former courthouse was located.
The South Wolcott Street Historic District in Casper, Wyoming is a 61 acres (25 ha) historic district covering about 22 residential blocks south of downtown. The district is roughly bounded by S. Center St., E. Ninth St., S. Wolcott St., E. Seventh St., S. Beech St., and E. Thirteenth St. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
