The National Operations Council (NOC) or Majlis Gerakan Negara (MAGERAN) was an emergency administrative body which attempted to restore law and order in Malaysia after the 13 May incident in 1969, in the wake of the racial rioting which broke out in the federal capital of Kuala Lumpur.

The NOC was announced on 15 May 1969, with Tun Razak as Director of Operations, although the other council members were not announced until 17 May. [1] From 1969 to 1971, the NOC governed the country in lieu of the elected government. In 1971, the NOC was dissolved with the restoration of Parliament.

The Director of Operations of NOC was Tun Razak. [2] The Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman was not formally a member, but was consulted on major decisions for approval. [3]

Royal Military College is an all-boys military school established to train young Malaysians for service in the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). RMC is an elite and prestigious College in Malaysia. It is sometimes dubbed "the Malaya's Sandhurst". On 9 December 1966, in a ceremony held at the college, HM Ismail Nasiruddin of Terengganu, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, conferred the "Royal" title to the FMC. This was a great honour for the college as RMC the only educational institution in the history of this nation has the "Royal" title bestowed upon it. Hence since 1966, the former Federation Military College came to be known as the Royal Military College.

The Tun Abdul Razak Chair was established at Ohio University's Department of Southeast Asian Studies in 1980 in honor of Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1970 to 1976. The Razak Chair was endowed jointly by a grant from the Malaysian government and matching funds from American firms operating in Malaysia. It is the first such chair to be established by a foreign government at any North American university.

The film was intended to be released in Malaysian cinemas on 13 September 2012 but the release was delayed until 29 August 2013 due to some controversy regarding the portrayal of the racial riots being the plot point of the film.
