Mahathir Mohamad formed the third Mahathir cabinet after being invited by Tuanku Iskandar to begin a new government following the 3 August 1986 general election in Malaysia. Prior to the election, Mahathir led (as Prime Minister) the second Mahathir cabinet, a coalition government that consisted of members of the component parties of Barisan Nasional. It was the 11th cabinet of Malaysia formed since independence.

The Malaysian United Indigenous Party is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia and founded by members of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) rebel group Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia. Mohamed Hanipa bin Maidin is a Malaysian politician and barrister who served as the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of legal affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Liew Vui Keong from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sepang from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of the PH coalition. and was a member of Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). He and other progressive PAS leaders referred to as the G18 were ousted at the 2015 PAS Muktamar. This led them to launch Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB), which took over the dormant Malaysian Workers' Party, after their attempt to form a new party called Parti Progresif Islam (PPI) was rejected by the Home Affairs Ministry. GHB was later rebranded as AMANAH with Mohamad Sabu as its 1st President.

Isnaraissah Munirah binti Majilis @ Fakharudy is a Malaysian politician and electrical engineer who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Belud since May 2018. She served as the Deputy Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Yeo Bee Yin from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. She is a member of the Heritage Party (WARISAN) and was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. Datuk Shahruddin bin Md Salleh is a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Minister of Works in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister Fadillah Yusof from March 2020 to his resignation in June 2020, Deputy Minister of Federal Territories in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Khalid Abdul Samad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020, Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (IBTM) from February 2010 to his removal from the position in October 2016, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sri Gading from May 2018 to November 2022 and the Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jorak from March 2008 to May 2018. He was also political secretary to Muhyiddin. He is a member and was a State Chairman of Johor of the Homeland Fighters Party (PEJUANG) before October 2022 and was a member and 1st Secretary-General of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the ruling PN coalition and former component party of the PH opposition coalition and member of the United Malay National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis</span> Political crisis in Malaysia

The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government. This crisis ended in 2022 and Malaysian political crisis continued in the State of Sabah known as 2023 Kinabalu Move.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Muhyiddin cabinet</span>

The Muhyiddin cabinet was formed on 10 March 2020, nine days after Muhyiddin Yassin was appointed as the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia and dissolved 17 months and 6 days later on 16 August 2021, the day when Muhyiddin submitted his resignations as PM and of this cabinet. It was the 21st cabinet of Malaysia formed since independence. This cabinet was also known as the Perikatan Nasional Cabinet (PN-Cabinet) which combined 15 political parties from the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties, with Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties and United Sabah Party (PBS) as allied partners providing confidence and supply.

The National Alliance is a political coalition that was previously known as the Malaysian Party Alliance Association. It is the second largest political coalition in Dewan Rakyat with 74 seats after Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 81 seats.

Mustaffa bin Mohammad was a Malaysian politician and former Minister of Social Welfare from 1987 to 1990. He also served as Deputy Minister of Works.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Guan Dee Koh Hoi</span> Malaysian politician (1954–2021)

Datuk Guan Dee bin Koh Hoi was a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from April 2021 to August 2021 and Senator from December 2020 to his death in October 2021. He was a member of and also served as Secretary-General of the Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR), a component party of the ruling PN coalition, from its establishment in July 2016 to his death in October 2021.

Clarence Elong Mansul was a Malaysian politician from BERJAYA. He was the Deputy Minister of Energy, Telecommunications and Posts from 1981 to 1983. He was also the Member of Parliament for Penampang from 1978 to 1986 and Member of Sabah State Legislative Assembly for Tamparuli from 1983 to 1985.
