Nebuchadnezzar is a city-building game developed and published by Nepos Games for Windows and Linux on December 3, 2020. The game takes place in Ancient Mesopotamia. The game has been compared to Impressions Games' City Building series, especially the fourth entry, Pharaoh . [2] [3] [4]

Gameplay

The game's campaign tasks the player with building some of the cities in ancient Mesopotamia like Ur, Nineveh and Babylon. [5]

Release

Nebuchadnezzar was announced on November 2, 2019, for release in 2020. [6] On November 19, 2020, the game was delayed to February 17, 2021. [7] A DLC campaign, The Adventures of Sargon, was released on February 7, 2023. [8] [9]

Reception

Nebuchadnezzar received "mixed or average" reviews according to review aggregator Metacritic. [10]

PC Gamer summarized: "Nebuchadnezzar isn't lacking for class, but needs to dial up the fun factor." [5] Rock Paper Shotgun criticized the lack of content: "There are temples, but there's no religion. There's no entertainment. No war. No disease. No taxes, even." [2] Eurogamer praised the historical accuracy but described the campaign missions as repetitive. [15]

At the 2021 Czech Game of the Year Awards, Nebuchadnezzar won the Best Technological Solution award. [16] [17]

Pharaoh is an isometric city-building game released in November 1999. It was created by Impressions Games and published by Sierra Studios for Microsoft Windows. Using the same game engine and principles of Caesar III, it is the first such game in Sierra's City Building series to focus on another civilization of ancient times. Players oversee the construction and management of cities and settlements in Ancient Egypt, micro-managing every aspect of the city to ensure citizens are fed, employed, healthy and protected from diseases, disasters and wars. An expansion pack, Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile, was released in 2000, developed by BreakAway Games. In 2001, both the game and expansion pack were bundled together as Pharaoh Gold. A remake titled Pharaoh: A New Era was released by Triskell Interactive and Dotemu in 2023.

<i>Enemy Engaged 2</i> 2007 video game

Enemy Engaged 2 is the sequel to Enemy Engaged: RAH-66 Comanche vs. KA-52 Hokum (EECH) and the third game in the Enemy Engaged series. It was developed by Serbian studio Gameyus Interactive in 2007. Though the sequel was improved in some ways compared to the previous game, it has been highly criticized for its lack of new features. Many improvements were already implemented in the modded version of EECH. Some commentators also felt it was not ready for release considering the large amount of bugs it contained. The biggest improvement can be seen in the efficient, modern-looking graphics of the game.
