Kerr County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 52,598. Its county seat is Kerrville. The county was named by Joshua D. Brown for his fellow Kentucky native, James Kerr, a congressman of the Republic of Texas. The Kerrville, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Kerr County.

Boerne is known for its German-Texan history, named in honor of German author and satirist Ludwig Börne by the German Founders of the town. The population of Boerne was 10,471 at the 2010 census, and in 2019 the estimated population was 18,232. The city is noted for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case City of Boerne v. Flores. Founded in 1849 as "Tusculum", the name was changed to "Boerne" when the town was platted in 1852.
Comfort is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kendall County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 2,363. Comfort was founded by German emigrants on the western end of the Texas-German belt. Many residents of the town today are descendants of those same Germans. Comfort is known for its German Heritage and large ranches outside of town.

Kerrville is named after James Kerr, a major in the Texas Revolution, and friend of settler-founder Joshua Brown, who settled in the area to start a shingle-making camp.
Fair Oaks Ranch is a city in Bexar, Comal, and Kendall counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 5,986 at the 2010 census and an estimated 9,700 in 2018. It is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was named after Ralph Fair Sr, an oilman who had a large cattle ranch on the now residential town. The Fair family decided to sell a portion of the ranch to build what is now Fair Oaks Ranch in 1975.

These Texas Germans founded the towns of Bulverde, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, Boerne, Pflugerville, Walburg and Comfort in Texas Hill Country; Muenster in North Central Texas; and Schulenburg, Brenham, Industry, New Ulm and Weimar in east Texas.

The community is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Bergheim is an unincorporated community in eastern Kendall County, Texas, United States known for its German-Texan culture and heritage. It lies along State Highway 46 east of the city of Boerne, the county seat of Kendall County. Its elevation is 1,437 feet (438 m). Although Bergheim is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 78004; the ZCTA for ZIP Code 78004, consisting mostly of rural land, had a population of 1,183 at the 2010 census. The community is part of the San Antonio metropolitan statistical area. Bergheim is still a predominantly a ranching and agricultural community.
The Kendall Inn is a historic hotel located in Boerne, Texas, United States, that originally opened in 1859. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 29, 1976.
Joshua David Brown (1816–1876) was a Texas pioneer who became the first settler of Kerrville, the seat of Kerr County in the Texas Hill Country west of San Antonio. Brown donated the original 4-acre (16,000 m2) townsite for Kerrville, and the community was named after his friend and fellow Kentucky native, James Kerr (1790–1850). Brown made his living by making shingles harvested from cypress trees growing along the Guadalupe River.
The Capt. Charles Schreiner Mansion is located in Kerrville in the U.S. state of Texas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Kerr County, Texas in 1975. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1962. The mansion is currently the home of the Hill Country Museum. In 1984, Mrs. E. C. Parker was awarded a Jefferson Davis Certificate of Meritorious Service for Preservation and Restoration, in honor of her work in converting the mansion into a museum.
The Kerrville Daily Times, formerly the Kerrville Times and Centerpoint News, is a local and regional newspaper published in Kerrville, Texas, United States serving the hill country, Kerrville, and Kerr County. It was first published in 1926, although the original printing equipment had been used at a prior newspaper since 1908 and was later purchased in Centerpoint, Texas by the Starke family and moved to Kerrville to begin production of a regional newspaper in Kerr County. It currently serves as the newspaper of record for the City of Kerrville as well as Kerr County.
