Emma Garland of Crack commented the album "doesn't reach for new subject matter as much as it reframes the old" and "There's a fresh sharpness to their delivery on New World Depression, too; a weightless calm washes over the whole record that would previously only appear in flashes."
Steve Erickson of Slant Magazine wrote "While $crim and Ruby are now in their 30s, tracks like 'The Thin Grey Line' have a teenage edgelord quality to them: 'Talking about killing got my dick getting hard.' The group's attitude remains similar, with brash boasts mixed with equally extreme evocations of outrageous violence and drug use. Over the course of an entire album, this grows monotonous, just as their relentless, exaggerated misogyny quickly becomes grating." He additionally stated, "Horrorcore isn't known for tasteful lyrics, but even its uglier moments have been a way for artists to express their struggles with addiction and mental health. The fact that, for $uicideboy$, these experiences are so closely tied up with how they treat women makes New World Depression a harder pill to swallow. 'If I got to pick the drugs or a bitch, you know what I'm choosing,' goes one lyric on 'Misery in Waking Hours.'" [1]

These Days (stylized as (these Days)) is the sixth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on June 27, 1995, by Mercury Records. This was the first album Bon Jovi released after the dismissal of original bass guitarist Alec John Such, and their first album to be recorded officially as four-piece band (without an official bassist, but featured Hugh McDonald as a session/touring member on bass guitar). The album, produced by Peter Collins, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, is praised by many critics and fans as their best album. These Days is overall a darker album in contrast to the band's usual brand of feel-good, inspiring rock songs and love ballads.
Jagged Little Pill is the third studio album by Canadian-American singer Alanis Morissette, released by Maverick on June 13, 1995. Recorded in Hollywood at Westlake with production by Glen Ballard, it is Morissette's first album to be released worldwide. It marks a significant stylistic departure from dance-pop sound of her first two efforts, Alanis (1991) and Now Is the Time (1992). She began work on the album after moving from her hometown Ottawa to Los Angeles, where she met Ballard. The pair had an instant connection and began co-writing and experimenting with sounds. The album was released by Maverick Records in the United States on June 13, 2005, available only at North American Starbucks outlets until July 26, 2005, when it was made available in other retail stores. This limited availability led to a dispute between Maverick Records and HMV Canada, who retaliated by removing from sale Morissette's other albums for the duration of Starbucks' exclusive month-long sale. The album's single in the U.S. was "Hand in My Pocket". The cover artwork is a sepia-toned tribute to the cover of the original Jagged Little Pill.

I Want to Die in New Orleans is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo Suicideboys, which was released on September 7, 2018 by Caroline Distribution and Suicideboys' imprint G*59 Records. The album genres consists of hip hop and hardcore hip hop, along with elements of cloud rap. The album chronicles semi-autobiographical stories of the duo's encounters with depression, drug addiction and suicidal ideation. Released to critical acclaim in the underground rap scene, the album debuted at number 9 on the US Billboard 200 with 49,000 album-equivalent units in its first week sales. The album also reached the top 10 in Australia and Finland.

Multitude includes various music styles from different cultures, as seen in "Santé" and "L'enfer". Will of the People is the ninth studio album by English rock band Muse, released through Warner Records and Helium-3 on 26 August 2022. As with their previous releases, production was handled by Scrim under his producer alias Budd Dwyer. The album was preceded by two singles: "The Evil That Men Do" and "Escape from Babylon". The latter reached No. 22 on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100.
